I'm gonna need a second job.

But seriously, sell me a bottle of grisette with every purchase and I'll be happy.

I don’t have Facebook, but a buddy shared an image of someone, an Eric, getting their BBT Rye order refunded for selling it on secondary. Is that legit and who is Eric?

Not sure how common it is to turn around and flip these, but must suck to get busted.

Cory mentioned elsewhere that at least a couple orders were cancelled today, so I’d wager it’s real.

1000% percent agree. Never been a buyer or seller. Think it’s a shitty thing to do winning a lottery or be a member of a club and turn around and profit off of it. I’d feel like scum if I was a customer doing that to a brewery. Especially to people who are top notch like SP.

it’s the root of every problem with craft beer. pricing, trading, memberships, etc. if you don’t want to drink it (or trade it for other beer [maybe bourbon] you want to drink) then GTFO.

Well its a vicious cycle. Sellers can’t sell if people don’t pay those crazy prices. A buyer would say they had to if they wanted it since it insta sold out. It insta sold out because sellers flocked to buy it bumping out the drinkers and so on and so on. It’s a real shame, and a world different then when I got into beer, now you can’t trade without someone throwing secondary prices at you :slight_frown:

I've thought about this a long time. If the internet did not exist, neither would our problems as beer nerds (with resellers). Take it a step further though - if people were basically limited to just their local beer (or whatever beer they could find while traveling), imagine how many fewer breweries would exist. People that drank 450N probably wouldn't be drinking that every day; and 450N certainly wouldn't have been producing as much as they were. If that many fewer breweries were open today, and the secondary/trading didn't exist, imagine how many fewer beers we love wouldn't even exist.

I've traded a lot over the years, but trading ultimately led to whale hunting, and whale hunting ultimately lead to a culture of whale hunting, which ultimately beget secondary (at least partially because trading became more difficult). It's frustrating, because purchase for trading purposes effectively artificially increases demand, which has the effect of the consumer feeling as though supply has been limited. I won't nerd out down this rabbit hole further, but it's, as @KevSal noted, a viscous cycle.

Nice catch. I'm still working, and the days have been long recently. Computer didn't catch it either, since it's not misspelled.

Took me a second to smell what you stepped in. .

Came across a post showing one of the cancelled orders today and I’m not gonna lie it made me
Pretty happy. Sure it does almost nothing since it takes an idiot to get caught, and even as someone who doesn’t sell I find beer sales to just be a normal part of a thriving beer economy with more benefit than harm. But it’s nice to see a true fool with no motivation but money get smacked down. Kudos to side project.

SP's Grisette with hot dogs is one of the finest pairings I've ever had. Seriously, try it

Do you put the hot dogs in the grisette like a soup? or is this like a dunk thing or just dumped over the hot dog all together?

    Need more info here.
