Have a good Friday. Sucking as usual on Chess with a couple friends. I was chatting with some old friends from 19 years ago. Can't wait to hang out with all of these old friends when I move back to Ohio. Got lit up as usual otherwise. I was playing Remnant: From the Ashes with an old college buddy until about 3AM. Pretty sweet post apocalyptic third person shooter. I was impressed. Also put in about an hour of The Outer Worlds and its pretty fucking amazing of a game. I started this morning with a B. Nektar Sleeping Giant rye whiskey mead. Fucking phenomenal as usual. Been a while since I had a mead really. Gotta get my untappd to 500 uniques, I am at level 86, which is 340 unique meads. I think this was a 2013 bottle, fuck ton of barrel coming in, some coconut, wood, and floral honey.

    Also always amazing English barleywine.

    Morning Spak and greetings all,

Just Leffe Blonde after lunch; tonight going to a restaurant which has a terrace overlooking a pond. Should be nice...

Good day BAs! Yet another chilly morning - we're sliding into winter - won't be long before the polar bears are migrating through. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Pretty darn good for a brown ale - guess the coffee makes it drinkable (4.05).

A super beer from Lake Effect Brewing, Superbier.

This Kolsch is not typical, darker, full body and spicy like the sausage it is named for (SuperDawg).

Now most places carry Vienna Beef Hot Dogs in Chicago, but I never cared for them and always went to places carrying Leon's Sausage (Wally's, Bowser Dog) but they are gone.

My next favorite remains open as it has since shortly after World War II. I used to eat fast food quite often, now I typically eat it twice weekly (Wednesday wings at the bar and Sunday Superdawg/Portillo's or elsewhere).

Whooperburger, cheese placed on it at home pending melting in the oven.

Superdawg - This beer does pair great with their Superdawg or Whoopskidawg. With all these pics I want to hit it up now, but thankfully it doesn't open until 11.

I usually order their Whoopskidawg, everything is good here. Close to O'Hare, convenient if you are hitting Beer on the Wall (Park Ridge) or Une Annee/Hubbards Cave (Niles).

Cheers BAs from around the world!

Don't mind Robert, he just forgot the lyrics toward the end. Still the G.O.A.T.

I took yesterday off as my cleanse day...lots of rain in the forecast so I’ve spent the morning cleaning up the backyard and patio, draining the barrels, etc. Today’s breakfast beer comes courtesy of @beergoot - Outer Range Brewing’s “Black Denim Jacket”, an American Stout ringing in at 5.8% abv:

Pours ruby brown at 54 degrees; creamy dark beige/light tan head; ok cap retention; solid ring; some sudsy lacing. Roast malt nose. Bitter roast, bittersweet dark chocolate taste. Medium light body; thin feel; moderate carbonation. Good long lasting bitter roast linger; I like and would definitely drink again. Thanks again @beergoot!

This may be my most northern Indiana post ever. I don't think Falstaff is still in circulation. Anyway, one more nightshift left to work this week. Cheers all!

Mornin' - probably the last weekday morning beer for me, for a while. Work kicks back in on Monday, so happy to moderate a bit. I'd rather not get a ZUI (Zoom Under the Influence) on the job.
So, a nice, frothy-bitter HA TOME for me after an 8+ mile run. Cheers, have a great Friday; will likely cave and have another later today when work is done.
