NBS BIF #12 Sign Up Thread

The few, the proud, (the bruised liver carriers), the 12th time NBS BIFfers.

 

Just hit the Vivid Light from Phase Three IPA from @FBarber I think I liked it slightly more than my giver or his other victim @Roy_Hobbs and I am VERY OK with that.

 

I’m not much for prayer (I think “the big guy/gal” has much more to worry about than my wishes).

But I am making an exception in this case to the beer godz.

 

Ya seem awfully excited about a cardboard box full of Narragansett......

Missed # 11 and that funky off-season one, but was involved in 1 - 10.

 

What the fuck is this shit man. I probably missed the last NBS BIF because of my DUI but I am still alive and ready to blow porches off of the face of the earth.

 

My local got a shipment of Narragansett about a month ago!!! When I saw it on the shelf, it was like seeing a penguin in the Sahara Desert.

 

I missed the first three (I didn't start participating in the NBS thread until late 2015/early 2016), and I also missed #6 (we were moving for the 2nd time in a year). My first (#4 in the fall of 2016) was a revelation, especially the "Hints & Hauls" thread and the generosity of everyone. My target was @WesMantooth, and I believe I shipped him a number of Schell's beers and some Surly stuff (we lived in Minnesota then), and I know I sent a King Sue bomber (yes, TG used to bottle a LOT of their beers in bombers) because I sent it with a warning to drink it immediately (it was probably a month old when I shipped).

Now, when I buy beer, especially stouts, I'm thinking, "I can use this in the NBS BIF!!!" - literally months before the next BIF.

PS: my sender was @beerloserLI. He sent me my first Singlecut beers, including Softly Spoken Magic Spells, my #2 rated beer here (along with the aforementioned King Sue). I am forever in his debt for the revelation of how great NYC-area breweries are (Singlecut, Sand City, LIC, etc).

 

Getting a tattoo today. Probably going to drink some beers too. May even sneak over to the new beer thread and post some thoughts.

 

I’m not sure. I’d have to comb through quite a few to find out. I’ve been in every one, including the bonus Christmas edition (I believe NBS 8.5).

 

Might just be you and me then.

 

I did the bonus round, too. That was a nice little bit of holiday beer nerd chicanery.
