Since Odell is the official beer of the Colorado Avalanche, I’d better down a few of these for good luck before tonight’s 2nd Round game vs. the Dallas Stars.




Fun fact: The “HEY Song”, ubiquitous in NHL and NBA arenas everywhere, was first used in major league sports by the Colorado Rockies NHL team during their inaugural year in 1977. Their marketing manager came from Kalamazoo where he used it for their minor league team. It was commonly known as the “Rockies Hockey” song until 1982 when the franchise relocated to become the New Jersey Devils. Growing up in the Denver area in the ‘70’s, I had mixed emotions seeing teams around the country adopt it as their rally song in the 80’s and 90’s.

The last day before a long journey and steeling myself for it. Thought I would crack open an Ice Cream Social from Magnify: sounds like a low key party in a can. I like Magnify, most everything else I have had from them has been excellent. ICS, unfortunately, is not really to my liking; if you're curious, do read my review. The name, at least, made me think of this:

Early beer for me today but I'm thirsty! Finished mowing the hay field which I haven't mowed in about 3 or 4 weeks due to the drought around here. I only mowed it today to cut down the taller weeds. Working on a burger on the grill now and relaxing.
