Covert Artisan Ales Again! Raspberry Smoothie Sour, 3.3% ABV. This is their Vajazzled sour enhanced with fruit puree. Pours light hazy red and thick with a ring of bubbles. Nose is raspberry, taste follows, slightly sweet, moderately tart. Excellent mouthfeel, overall outstanding.

Went to this new taproom to pick up a crowler of their new stout, and thought I'd try this sour, which was outstanding. Then I noted that they have Prairie Pirate Paradise which I haven't had access to before. Unfortunately that's not off-sale, so I'll go back to have that tomorrow.

Spinning The Great Reunion of Louis Armstrong & Duke Ellington, this is the follow up to their album Together for the First Time. Both are excellent, will Armstrong's band and Ellington's songs.

Weird beer. Kinda floats between an APA and an English IPA. Hopped with Mosaic, Simcoe, and Ekuanot, but does not feel like a super-dry-hopped beer by any means. In fact, I don't think much consideration was put into the dry-hop here. I wouldn't get it again, but it's pretty interesting in that it doesn't really conform to any real stylistic notion out there right now. Who the heck is this made for!?

Hopback Amber ale - found this hiding in the back of the fridge.

 

Irresistible Bliss, a "Strawberry Vanilla IPA" from Silver City. It's better and more interesting than I expected. I thought it would be over-sweet and strawberry with little or no actual IPA character, but it's really an IPA with loud strawberry and vanilla notes.

 

@basaywhat, I got a four-pack of this beer. I will make sure you get to try this beer. @scream, the vanilla does not tone down the cherries all that much. There is no need for you to get involved. Are there any Miami Heat, and then Toronto Raptors fans that @Danmullens1 and I can get into it with? @Roguer, please remember to also explain that you are making broccoli (hotdish). People up north here do not necessarily know what a casserole is.

To Øl Jule Mælk Imperial Pastry Milk Stout, 15% ABV. Pours black with a four-finger brown head that left lots of foamy lacing. Nose is chocolate, lactose, and leather (belt, not shoe). Taste is quite sweet, tons of lactose, dark fruit, and chocolate. Liquorice in the aftertaste (alternate spelling). Outstanding mouthfeel, overall outstanding. Some wimps may find this too sweet. Dangerously void of alcohol taste, but the 15% kick is still there.
