Ayinger Märzen tonight. Had gone through a pair of porters over the week since I was drinking Oktoberfests almost exclusively for 3 weeks straight and needed to prevent burnout.

 

Good evening, BAs! Taking the wife out for her belated birthday. Out at Shiro for sashimi and sushi. Passing on Asahi and Sapporo for some good old Two Hearted.

 

Testing my palate tonight, I'm trying to get past the smoke and see how these two differ

Still holding up well, I think I’m the only one buying it from the place I get it at, but that’s OK. Would love to have tried it in February instead of mid May but I don’t know what I don’t know, still like it, cheers!

Hop Butcher Your Wish is Granted DIPA (Citra/Nelson Sauvin). A true west coast DIPA brewed in the summer each year by this haze-heavy brewery. White grape skin, orange pith and peel, tangerine, fresh cut grass, floral, key lime, lychee, passionfruit, yellow grapefruit, pine needle. Sweet bread and cracker from the malts provide a support for the hops. Nicely attenuated. Bright, refreshing, dry, and bitter. Well done WCIPA.

A great beer by those guys. I think their hazies have improved recently, but their clear IPA’s are definitely underrated. Cheers.
