Yum, I'm excited to try all of these. Especially looking forward to Mineshaft and DBVSOD!

I'm all for traditional DW season, but if the beers were ready and could be released one a week starting Labor Day weekend I wouldn't complain

A couple notables from my perspective:
    • The Maple Deth will be aged in barrels that held Maple syrup thanks to a big expansion of our partnership with Chicago Maple. A far contrast from the variant we had on tap that added Maple to existing Deth's Tar post barrel-aging, as the only source of the sweet nectar.
    • Additionally, the Double Barrel VSOD should be incomparable to the first version, not just because the barrels are completely different, but also our processes have evolved significantly for the better since the base beers of that release were brewed nearly 5 years ago. We are very excited about this one.
    • Personally, I'm very excited for Deth by Cherries and love it's subtlety on the fruit component, then Honey Jacket was an all-timer for me.
We still hope to have the Brewpub as a source to try out some variants, just understand that we are limited to 25% capacity right now. We'll be working on ways to make some form of an experience available, without the anxiety that can come along with high demand and such limited seating, but TBD for now. In the meantime, we have rapid fire crazy variants and vintages hitting the cooler, crowers, and/or draft lines at the Brewpub right now, with new stuff every few days. Right now you can buy 2013 Deth's Tar bombers to-go that have been stored cold/vertical by us for 7 years. It's pretty impossible to find ones that have been taken care of like that for so long. Some more on-site VSOJ will be coming down the pipeline fairly soon too. Keep a close eye on the Pub's FB page for those. Just tag me if you have any other questions.

This makes me happy, as I was not a fan of the initial maple bomb batch.

Hope they are able to reopen the brewery by then, don't expect the jam packed full variant list, but will still appreciate the one off kegs available before or after the releases like they made available at times throughout the Summer. I like the COVID Brewery setup more than the current brewpub situation.

@BeerCruncher - Are you guys considering / working on offsite preview release parties at bars similar to previous years?

Super excited for these. Thundertaker got more time in barrels. Maple Deth gets the real maple barrel treatment. DB VSOD should be wildly good with the improved based Deth's Tar this time. And oh boy. Apple Brandy Ryeway. Anyone who doesn't enjoy that, I pre-volunteer to take that off your hands.

Yeah fresh ‘17 Deth by Cherries was one of my favorite BA fruit stouts I’ve had. Still really miss fresh Blue Gene.

They can shoot that Thundertaker directly from a firehose into my face. That sounds awesome.

@BeerCruncher will Thundertaker be released at Binnys the same day as the brew pub, or will it show up there later?

Those are unlikely to happen this year unfortunately, but I'd expect us to reimplement them as soon as conditions change.
Not quite sure, but both will be in very close proximity to each other, like within a few days I believe.

Deth by Cherries is still good. Had one back in April and while some of the cherry had faded it was still awesome. Have one can left so I'm glad it's coming back.

Well, consider all my grad. school reimbursement money spoken for...

Has there been any hints I missed as to what the collab might be? I saw someone mentioned HB and P3.

I'd like to state I'm officially more excited for Deep Woods than Bourbon County this year. Rev is putting out a killer lineup.

Definitely been more excited about Rev DW lineup than BC for the last 2-3 years. Better beer (aside from Prop 17 and few others), better price per oz, Awesome release parties with unique drafts (well not this year), Cafe Deth practically replaced BCBCS IMO, etc. Really excited for AB Ryeway.

That was me and it was pure speculation just based on Rev already doing a collaboration with HB for two years in a row (could have brewed last year and put in barrels then) and P3 did a bunch of collabs when they started up. The HB stuff at FOBAB last year was awesome and we know P3 has some experience with barrel aging.

I kind of want to hold out hope it is a VSOJ collab. -But who would be the BW collaborator?

My second thought is the collab is the charity collab idea pitched.

I think the last time I had one was to do a side by side with plums and currants. To me it had lost some the tart cherry that it had when it was fresh.

I also have one can left that has been in a wine fridge for the last three years. Will probably open it soon.
