I really enjoyed about 1-2 ozs of the butter pecan but after that I was doing my best to get friends to drink the rest. Way too sweet for me.

Interesting to hear this since I saw Cassian in barrels at the black gold party in October. They were marked filled 5-2019. Aging them more then a year this time? Kinda figured we might see it late summer this year. There is still lots of it around shops here locally from the last batch. Apparently some distributors were holding it and dropped a second release a few months ago. Cassian is easy to find round here! If you like it a year old.

RBCP made it to downstate IL yesterday. $15.99 per 4 pack. I was confused at first because it was notched as 2019, but if you look at the neck it has a Julian date of 36519. So it's definitely the recent batch.

I'll need to have another one on a clean palate, but the one I opened last night was a LOT of chocolate and not a lot of rye barrel. I liked the prior batch because it featured the rye barrel more and was more nuanced on the chocolate.

Just got mine... 22 bottles still available (4 bottles as mentioned). Sad I missed the party but lots of nice treats left. 22 is kicked on tap but they have rum cherry on. I’m not a huge fruited stout fan but the cherry is subtle.

Central waters isn’t getting much love this year in great Lakes thread!

they’ve released some really cool four packs in the distro this year and have a great release lined up this fall. Such a great brewery and affordably priced beers. Nice to see that central waters has diversified their beer portfolio.

It's excellent. I went ahead and got a 2nd 4 pack as I plowed through the first pretty quick. It's real hot right now though. I expect this one to continue to get better, so I'm sitting on the others for a bit.

Another +1 for this. I prefer it to the BBA version and I like that one quite a bit. First time I've bought multiples of a big beer in some time. There was also a BA Pecan Kringle stout in 4 packs that flew under the radar a couple months back. I found it to be heavier than the usual base for the stouts in this series. I have high hopes for the cherry vanilla stout.

Also enjoyed the Key Lime Gose if that's your thing. Perfect back porch crusher for this sweltering swamp-ass weather.

I thought it was just good.

As someone who has drunk gallons upon gallons of the CW BA Barleywine going back to 2008 & believe it's one of the best in the country, I think the Brandy version needs time. It tasted like light Brandy, & the barrel completely obscured the fine barleywine underneath. Not that this is a terrible thing, but given time - 6 months, 3 years, who know - IMHO the Brandy will be a fantastic beer just like it's older cousin.
