I’m making a cider for the fall, and I’m looking for good/creative names for it. So far the only idea I have is Mott’s Tots (in reference to the Office). Puns or plays on words greatly appreciated.
Bob. No, Fred. Maybe a little bit about what may be special or different would help come up with something appropriate. Do you have a name for your cidermaking / homebrewery?
We haven’t brewed it yet, so unfortunately I don’t know what apples we will be using yet. Probably whatever is in season right now
We don’t really have a name, it’s just my boyfriend and I and we’ve only done a few brews so far. We are brewing a cider now because I like them. But I guess we are somewhat nerdy, so I’ve been thinking of something along those lines. But no great ideas yet
We have been making cider each fall for many years. Half the fun is using some of our semi-neglected apple varieties and working with the folks that are passionate about long forgotten varieties. Honeycrisp and Fuji are popular eating apples (known as out of hand in industry). They are sweet, sexy and expensive. They tend to make insipid, dull and expensive cider. Just the opposite of cider apples. Cider apples are anything but popular and have a fascinating history all their own. The names are just as crazy. Hard cider has been around for a few thousand years, plenty of information out there. I would search for some heirloom apples good for cider, and trust me, you're going to find a lot of inspiration in the names. Esopus Spitzenburg Sheeps Nose Belle de Boskoop And you'll be making a much better cider too. That's just my 2 cents. Cheers
Honestly, I wouldn't stress about naming it - if you need to differentiate, then "Fuji/Honeycrisp blend" is fine. Until and unless you really get into it, the last thing to worry about is names. First make sure your process and results are good, and move from there.
I didn't even thing of it like that. I just picked a couple random names out of my backside... But now that you mention it, Bobfer Apple Cider would be a good name...
