Haven't seen any yet locally. Its getting toward stout season so hopefully I'll see some soon

 

I'm a fan of Firestone Walker's version but I'm trying to hit up as many versions as I can.

 

I’ve had one and have a few more local iterations in the queue.



This one is from Half Hours on Earth, a brewery That focuses on sours and farmhouse beers in Seaforth, Ontario. It’s a chocolate, vanilla, hazelnut sour stout. Sour stouts generally don’t do it for me, but I have friends who enjoyed this one. The flavours are certainly all there.

I’ll try to remember to share some other locals when I have them.

 

Wait, so is this a thing between breweries like the Sierra Nevada beer to help the wild fires not too long back? Who in LA/OC is brewing it? Would love to try it.

 

I have only had the Fremont version and it was amazing (and this is coming from a guy who does not include stouts in his favorite styles). I know that a lot of local breweries have made their own versions but I have not come across any of them yet. A lot of them sell out fast I think.

 

One of my local breweries brewed this beer, and I think they followed the recipe exactly, no flavoring adjuncts. It's one of the richest tasting stouts that I have ever experienced. My neighbor is really into trying beers with my wife and I and is African American. When I told her about this project, she was super excited and I told her I'd get as many as I could and we'd do a few tastings with them.

I've tried the Trillium and Answer versions already and both are really good.

I'll be following this thread, as I'd like to add some more and would like suggestions as far as what everyone is enjoying.

 

I have a can from Monkish I’m going to enjoy soon.

 

Hyper-local collab between Ambler Beer Company (Ambler, PA) and Well Crafted Beer Company (Lansdale, PA). It's a very nice IS.

Well Crafted also did a collab with Round Guys Brewing (Lansdale) that I'd like to try. That one is an oatmeal stout.

 

Have had about a dozen of these BisB efforts, and I agree Weldwerks pulled off a great one; I think I still lean towards the Outer Range variant, tried it in Frisco on tap and knocked my socks off. Bought 2 2-packs of it, waiting for cooler weather to fully enjoy them.

I had the version from Austin Street and it was quite good.

I apologise for this comment but it sickens me how many people are upset over this beer being brewed. Not really surprising, but upsetting nonetheless. So many "I'm never buying your beer again" comments. The Founders version in particular had tons of them.

Whatever, more for me.

 

I don't have anymore, unfortunately. Wish I did!

And yeah, everything is political nowadays. If beer can't bring us together then nothing will.
