I'm either blind, or there's no new Moonraker thread yet. Just wanted to say that I'm officially back on the bandwagon. I thought MR had a rough 2018 and early 2019, but they've got their hoppy game back on track. Drinking an awesome Electric Lettuce that beings me back to 2017.

I'm also loving their increase in Stout production. I've had some really good ones from them, but Deafening Silence takes the Cake. As I said in the bottleshop thread, it's the best distributed NorCal Stout IMO. Some of ASB's Motor Oils have been great, but not quite to this level (never had no. 6 though).

    * Please delete this thread is I missed an existing Moonraker 2020 thread.

Yeah I lost confidence is Moonraker a while back and given the premium price on their distributed products, I lost interest. I think prices have come down a bit recently, but not enough to warrant blindly buying 4-packs. Decided to have a pour of The Tops of the Hops recently and thought it was excellent. Hope to see more consistency in 2020 and perhaps I’ll return to buying again.

As for their stouts, how much are you paying for them? Picked up a bottle of the Hollow Bones from Crafty Fox sometime last year and while it was decent, the price was just too damn high. Could be a craft fox thing though.

I'll get back on board if/when they return to the original goodness of Holy Hermit. Otherwise they're not something I seek; pitstops in Auburn to/from Tahoe involve them far less.

Have to agree. I still buy YoGo and DoJo when I see them, and the last batch of DoJo was simply world class IMO. But yeah, my confidence has waned and no longer eager to pick up a 4 pack of their IPAs, but if the reviews are rated excellent, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Didn’t find Deafening Silence to be all that great tbh. The orange just didn’t really work for me.

    Opinions...
What would you guys say are the top 5 moonraker beers that are currently distributed and available now?

    For top beers:
Yojo was released about 4 weeks ago. Not sure if any is left in distro.

Bubble Dust was released about 2 weeks ago.

Electric Lettuce was released about 1 week ago.

    ++++

They also have several newer ones out recently that I have not tired. Juke DIPA (released 1/28) and Cool Cool IPA (released 1/22)

Bubble dust and electric lettuce are amazing and Juke is right up there as well. Moonraker has really stepped it up lately.

    Thanks for the info.
I’ve heard great things but it’s hard to sort out which ones are better than others. Especially with BA ratings, which are pretty limited with these ones.

Electric Lettuce as mentioned by others is amazing. I'm trying to get my hands on Bubble Dust sure that seems to be the best 2019 new release based on ratings.

No joy on Bubble Dust, but Space Nectar is quite tasty. I just tried Electric Lettuce and also must say it is very good; better than Space Nectar.

Props to Moonraker though, I really like the can art on Space Nectar, and probably why it caught my eye.

Just want to second this. JUKE is a good DIPA. Mosaic and Sabro Hops.

Man.....6+ months since anyone checked in here.

Drove through the smoke/haze and hit the taproom in Auburn on Saturday. Picked up some Yojo cans for the first time in a while. Still good. They have managed to keep the consistency on this one.

I missed out on this. So encouraging to hear that Yojo is still consistently good. Even though I can't enjoy this, at least you can. Cheers!

I’ve also noticed I never hear anything about moonraker anymore. It seems like they’re still distributing.

It's because their assistant brewer left to help create New Glory and their head brewer left to create Slice.

From what I've had since, their beers are still perfectly fine. But not what I once thought was the best hazy brewery in CA.

Agreed. And I've yet to forgive them for the recipe change to Holy Hermit. The original recipe was out-Fn-standing for my palate and preferences.
