Is it me or did Negra Modelo disappear?

    Used to put down a fair share of Negra Modelo as my go to cerveza when eating Mexican fare. But lately here in South Florida it has disappeared. Total Wine, ABC, hell, even the local Publix- gone! About the same time came the emergence of its red headed step child from another mother, Modelo Nigra, which is absolute piss and was an immediate drain pour when I picked up one as part of a six mix. Is it just me, is it the often known shitty distro down here, or have other BA's noticed this? TiA.

    I can attest some places don’t have as much in the cold case as they used too. You can probably thank seltzer’s for that condensing. What used to be space for imports shrank and is now seltzer territory.

    Publix around me keeps six and twelve packs in stock so that’s usually where I go.

    That’s surprising! I snagged a 12 pack of bottles today here in VA to go with some skirt steak and fresh sweet corn.

    Yeah, that's what really chaps my ass. Most of the Publix locations here it was no problem up to about a month ago. As I mentioned in the OP, it's likely the idiot dizzystributors.

    Factory which produces constellation brands in Mexico had to shut down due to covid a couple months ago. There are up and running but having shortages all across. There's no corona, pacifico or Modelo 6 pack bottles on shelf's in any store in my neighborhood

    I work at a beer store, and can confirm we have been having a very difficult time getting Mexican imports such as Modelo, Corona, and Pacifico.

    It’s here too, but what I can’t find in Carte Blanca, it’s my favorite Mexican cheap beer.

    This is my favorite Mexican beer of the few I have sampled. It is supposedly corn-free according to what I have read. That is pretty unusual for Mexican beers.

    According to Constellation's Modelo Negra website:
    Vague but likely corn (or, it depends on market conditions and sometimes they use rice or both if the price is right).
