I’m confused. Are Bottlehouse and Cleveland Brewery affiliated?

I will say, I'm a little sour on them lately. They took Hexagenia (their very nice, simple, WC IPA) and rebranded it Hex complete with a new, soft, juicy flavor profile. Ruined one of the best packaged IPAs in nor cal and now have 3 hazy-ish options and only a dipa as their clear choice

I'll second the mentions of Beachwood and 4 Noses, even if they don't fit my personal definition of a "hidden" gem as much as I love both of them.

I'll say I got a massive hidden gem vibe from Ratio Beerworks in Denver (RiNo). It was less than a block away from the Odell taproom and a short walk from Epic's taproom. It had that very utilitarian/industrial vibe with a punk flair, from the seating down to the bathroom fixtures. The beer was great and priced very well. My stepdad, who is a Budweiser drinker and an old man set in his ways, even was impressed with their pilsner; the most I can get out of him from quality pilsners/lagers that I order for him at taprooms is a shrug and "Good but I still like my Bud."

Agreed x1000. Hexegenia was a great example of modern take on the WCIPA. Why F with a good thing, that seemed to sell quite well?

Referend in Pennington, NJ is my pick. I’d add Plan Bee in Poughkeepsie, NY as a runner-up.

I agree Slice is potentially very good, had some of their beers during my last couple of visits. But as far as "the most flavorful IPAs on the WC," I'll see you several Russian Rivers and raise you a couple of Beachwoods. As far as haze goes, Alvarado's light years ahead.

No. I was adding another small outfit in the area while agreeing with you. Sorry for the confusion.

Louisville, KY is becoming a solid beer city and two breweries that get overlooked are Holsopple and Great Flood. Check them out, along with others, if you are in town.

Definitely agree with this one. Tucked away spot, low key vibe (in my opinion one of the biggest shortcomings of most other breweries in the city), and solid beer across a variety of styles

BarrieHaus in Tampa, FL brews lagers that stand up to any of the big boys in the lager conversation (Bierstadt, Suarez, Jack's Abby, etc)

I have been there a handful of times and have never had a strong beer there, I would say I've only had 1 or 2 "good" beers. All of their IPAs and "Hazys" are way over-hopped and have a strange medicinal taste. Their light beers are flavorless and their dark beers are burnt tasting.

I'll quit my bashing on them now but, beware of them.

    Cool venue though :heavymetal:

Burn Em is about 10 minutes away from them in Michigan City and they put out a lot of good, fun beer

Bravo Brewing Company of scenic Pascoag Rhode Island. It is located in the town of Burrillville in he north west corner of the state.

Its a gem in my opinion due their True-to-Style approach to English and German style Beers.
Although not really hidden, the town of Pascoag is a bit out of the way for most travelers.
This brewery is right on Main Street, Pascoag Main St. in fact.

I need some members from South Central Mass, North Eastern Connecticut and Northern Rhode Island to get their butts in there and check this place out. Bravo Brewing has been open for a year and I am the only BA that has yet to review the place or their Beers!!??.
Other sites have reviews for this place, why is BA so far behind the curve on this one?

Come on BAs, prove me wrong or prove me right, and Cheers.

Awesome to see this - the owners are genuine good people, too. I worked with Brianna for a period of time - when we start playing nice with RI again, this brewery is on our "to visit" list - it's about 45 minutes from home mainly because you can't get there in a damned straight line!

Brianna and Chris are good people and I think they do all the brewing and sales themselves.
I travel to Mass. for work and shopping almost every day and never had an issue, come on down.

Yeah - living right on the border it is pretty aggravating to not do the things we usually do that take us into RI. Just have to follow the rules and guidelines and be halfway intelligent. And yes - they do everything themselves and they are doing the right things in terms of community.

what!!! I live in So Cal so I didn’t get their beer. I visit a friend in Chico once a year and I usually have it whether it’s at his house or at a restaurant. I’ve always thought it was a really good WC IPA. Once after drinking too many hazies it never tasted so good. This summer I was in Chico and didn’t have it. That’s a bummer. Too many hazies already no need to change a perfect good WC IPA.

There are three breweries in Illinois that I believe deserve more acclaim.

First is Half Acre. Top to bottom one of the best breweries you’ll find. They make world class affordable year round offerings and do a ton of playful small batch stuff in nearly every style you can think of. Best hops in the Midwest for my money, west coast or hazy.

#2 Roaring Table. Small little brewery up in Lake Zurich, that is also brewing tons of styles. Great lagers and English milds, hazy ipa, sour ipa, and post fermentation fruit “beers”. A brewery more people should check out. It’s the best brewery in Lake Zurich

#3 Afterthought Brewing out of Lombard. Saison brewery making some of the best saison you’ll find. Inspired by breweries like Jolly Pumpkin and Hill Farmstead, Afterthought makes mixed ferm saison better than most and offers them in small bottle formats at a price point lower than you would expect
