    I'd just like to say that Breakside Fresh Guy IPA with Strata hops is outstanding.

    Also: I got nothing particularly concrete from the dudes behind the bar at Breakside Milwaukie today regarding FH Wanderjack.

    One dude said, "Well, I know we're making it but, like I don't know if it's cans or draft or both, or when"

    Other dude gave a dramatic shrug and said, "I heard Monday."

    Having a pint of Fresh WanderJack

    This is a really great IPA. Not sure I can detect a HUGE difference from regular WanderJack(which is also a great IPA), and the fresh hops don’t jump out as much as the Fresh Guy from yesterday.

    Curious to see what others say.


    As an aside.... $7 pints???

    This sounds like such a fun trip. As I’m sure you’re aware, it seems like half the state is on fire. Hopefully places will be open up & you’ll get plenty of fresh air on your trip. Safe travels!

    Yeah the Fresh Wanderjack is more balanced than the danker Fresh Guy.

    Fresh Hop Beers are insanely expensive to make and the limited amount of Draft being put on means it's going to be hard to make the money back. I am just happy they are making them this year.

    FH Wanderjack is draft only, brewed at Slabtown. I'll post when it's on tap at Milwaukie.

    Zoiglhaus Fresh Hop Oktoberfest is available now. This is one of my favorites every year and it apparently won Gold at the 2019 Oregon beer awards for Fresh Hop Beers

    Not to complain because I know it’ll be here before we know it, but is Two Beers the only Washington State brewery with a fresh hop offering out at the moment?

    I’ve been trying to maintain a list of the beers mentioned in this thread so I know what to look for, and AFAIK it appears to be. I was wondering if Oregon hops are ready a few weeks earlier than Washington hops because of latitude, but then I also don’t know which side of the state line most Oregon breweries get their hops.

    The fresh hop beers I've had so far from Ex Novo and Level all used hops from Goschie Farms in Silverton, OR, which is about 50 miles south and a little east of me here in Beaverton.

    I don't know where Breakside got the Strata hops in their excellent Fresh Guy IPA, but I wouldn't be surprised to find out they're from Goschie Farms as well. Or Crosby Hop Farm, nearby in Woodburn, OR.

    Fresh hop news from Fort George: Looks like their annual Fresh IPA is returning in early September with fresh Strata hops from Crosby Hops. They are also kicking off a new series called "Rock, Paper, Scissors" with a fresh hop Pilsner called Rock, Paper, Sterling that features fresh Sterling hops (also from Crosby).

    YUM.

    We got our Strata from Goschie last Tuesday, so I would assume Breakside did as well.

    For those in pdx who want to gorge on different fh beer... Well, you're likely out of luck. At least for now. However, Roscoe's currently has fh abominable from hub, fh pert near from Crux, fh elliott and fh Oktoberfest from Level.

    FH Pert Near was a fun one last year because some people claimed the hops seemed faded, while others claimed it smelled like rotten mangoes, and of the latter group, some liked it for that exact reason. :grin:

    I've been a fan of in previous years. So I'm looking forward to trying this year's version.

    Increasingly, it seems like it's become difficult to find Crux fh stuff in pdx. Shockingly bad service at Roscoe's today. Usually that's an area where they really shine.

    Got a sampler tray of the different fh beers. I'm almost certain the pert near isn't the correct beer. There's no fh character and it tastes more like an Oktoberfest marzen (Roscoe's has several on tap right now).

    Edit: I asked the waiter about the pert near, and he admitted that they just put it on and that previously the tapline had a locally made Oktoberfest beer. He also admitted they hadn't been cleaning the taplines. Sigh...

    So they poured me another sampler. Still getting some of the marzen, but now I'm getting more of the pert near. Based on what I'm trying now, it's probably pretty good. Sigh.

    Sounds like fresh hop Elliot with Strata is getting canned tomorrow with a limited number of kegs hitting draft already around town.

    Also, ruse brewing is going to have about 7 fresh hop beers apparently this year the first coming out in about 2 weeks.
