Golden orange body with nicely rising carbonation; one-finger thick head, dense and creamy. Fruity, lemony aroma with a touch of sweet white wine; green apple. Tart and earthy flavors with some brett funk and a twinge of hop bitterness; lemony; a bit phenolic; citrus tartness. Medium body; tangy and acidic with a touch of dryness at the finish.

Picked up this beer on a whim, and I'm glad I did. It is a well-rounded, tart and tasty imperial saison. It's low on the funk and high in the citrus and earthy flavors (the bottle label told the truth!). I'm not sure what date this was bottled on. Mike Donovan is listed as the brewmaster.

Gorgeous milky-orange haze in the glass. Aromas of bubblegum yeast, white wine, and gooseberry. Additional hints of pineapple, and snake fruit. Subdued bready malt component. Soft, chewy, and gripping. Slightly boozy, as it should be. Triple IPAs aren't really my jam, but this shit is Ultra Black. Say what, Hunter?

We goin' ultra black, I gotta toast to that
    We don't fold or crack
Occasion, we rose to that, fuck goin' postal
    We goin' ultra black
Watchin' the global change, hop in the coldest range
The Hunter on BA, this shit 'posed to slap
I'm goin' ultra black, I'm goin'

Seeing Nas still spittin' correctly is heart-warming. Hopefully, the kids are listening when I play this as I tell them to get off my lawn. :stuck_out_tongue:

Cross post with the cellar review thread.

Very Special Old Jacket, aged for two years, canned in October 2018, barrel aged for 2-3 years before canning.

Been savoring this for at least twenty minutes, have 4/5 of the pour to go. It’s a most excellent BA barleywine, one of my favorites of all time then and now.

That sounds good enough to me to check some local shops for Yankee & Kraut Eden  Sold out, but that is a good sign. I keep this one in mind!

I can recommend almost any beer from Track Brewing (Manchester) to try when you see it. They do some nice bitter herbal NEIPA stuff.

    Cheers!

After putting aside expectations of what a coffee ale might/should taste like, I’ve enjoyed this new Founders release Marvelroast. Cheers!

Yeah, Track is definitely a UK brewery I got on my radar, but have never really been able to purchase anything from, except for collaboration brews. I really love Polly's as well, another great UK brewery.

I think normal Bomb! is about as close as I've seen any of their stouts get to a "normal" one. I've just come to expect these things from them. While I love a perfectly normal RIS, if I'm in the mood for a really sweet/pastry/dessert/whatever you wanna call it kind of stout, I know they'll deliver on that. And usually it's pretty good for what it is.

Got home early from work, it was too cold to go in the pool (Plan A), so I cracked open this can of Other Half Green City which I got at Half Time in Mamaroneck, NY. To say it was a religious experience is hyperbole, but sometimes you just open up a can of something that really, really hits the spot and this was that. It's good, but it's best fairly cold; the cold seemed to favor the fruitiness.

Have a good Monday. After my ample dinner and 4 pints at Mad Anthony Brewing last night, I crashed on the couch and woke up at 130 AM. Was with my college gamer friend I am crashing out with, and 2 of my college bowling and euchre buddies. One had his wife come with him. The other three of us don’t have one lol. We used to go there all the time in college, which was even 2 years before I ever reviewed a beer on this site. And thus became today's certified beer geek.

Just been listening to music and swiping right and such all night. Playing more lichess puzzles and have 2 games going with another friend. Slept more into the afternoon after that.

Sun King GFJ. This was fantastic. Great fluffy head retention/lacing. Hazy looking. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, berry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine hops; with moderate spicy rye, toasted biscuit, light caramel malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body; balanced creamy/bready malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very vsmooth, not overly aggressive, 7.7%. Fantastic Simcoe, Amarillo, Centennial profile. Very juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy hops; with a nice sized bready rye malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Loved this one a lot! Very similar to Jai Alai. Spot on classic Midwest IPA. 4.2
