    Pert near...

The truth is, I have absolutely no idea. It's listed as a FH IPA, but the beer I tasted had virtually none of the characteristics I expect in FH IPA. To be honest, the FH Elliott wasn't all that great either, and once again seemed to show the effect of poorly cleaned taplines (flavors seemed muddled and a bit off).

My impression is that Roscoe's is struggling during the pandemic. Service was off, and my guess is that likely has carried over to normal tap line cleaning as well. They just aren't getting around to it.

I'm a big fan of Roscoe's and I'll go back again once they're back to normal operations. For now however, I think I'll take my business elsewhere.

I must have just spoken to the same guy on the phone there.

Phone dude: "No, we don't have cans of it yet. And um, I'm not 100% sure it's going to be canned."

Me: "Okay... so, should I just keep on calling back, to see if it's going to be canned, and if you have any of it in?"

Phone dude: "Yeah, just keep calling back periodically."

    Zoiglhaus Fresh Hop Update:

Oktoberfresh was as tasty as ever with the Fresh Hops working pretty well in a Malty beer.

The big Surprise for me was the Fresh Hop Kolsch which was really good. Highly recommend grabbing some while you can as it sounded like not much was produced.

HUB FH Abominable was an unexpected surprise find at my local Freddy's this last weekend, especially since us Salemites usually get the short end of the beer distribution stick, but at $8.99 a sixer and probably my favorite HUB beer overall, easy purchase. Lots of delicious fresh Centennial aroma/flavor to me - huge floral notes, grass, citrus, and some pine. That FH Zoigl Kolsch sounds delicious and I was very impressed with the Oktoberfresh last year - will be on the lookout for both. Cheers!

"Yes, those bags say Fresh Hops. Just picked up this morning from Goschie Farms. Adding to beer now. It's Fresh Hop season! We are canning our Fresh Hop Pilsner Wednesday. Hope this brightens your Monday."

(Why yes. Yes it did brighten my Monday.)

I wonder if they're going to distribute kegs of the FH pils as well. I'm more than happy to get cans of it, but last year it seemed like the FH pils was all over town for a week or two (which was a wonderful thing I thought).

    Today's update (9/1/20)

So, it now seems definite that FH Wanderjack will not be canned. I was also told that the Milwaukie facility is only expecting to get one keg and they're not sure when it will be tapped (only that it will undoubtedly go fast). Cans of the FH strata are sold out at the brewery, but should be available at some point around town (as cans are seeing distribution). FH strata is still available for growler fills at the brewery.

OktoberFresh is going to get distribution but I think the Fresh Hop Kolsch is Brewery Only.

I saw 4-packs of Zoiglhaus Oktoberfresh at the Tanasbourne Whole Foods a couple hours ago.

Another point of fresh hop interest: They also had 6-packs of HUB Fresh Hop Abominable.

I didn't buy either of them today, but tomorrow is another story.

Remember a couple hours ago when I said "I didn't buy either of them today"?

LOL, well that was a couple hours ago. And that was before Mrs. vurt asked me to make a beer run while she started putting dinner together. So I did. Brought home the Fort George Overdub IPA she asked for and snagged a sixer of HUB FH Abominable while I was there.

I don't get a ton of fresh Centennial character in the Abominable, but it's a tasty beer overall. And nicely priced. Hat tip to @TheBricenator for putting this one on my radar.

Just to update, it looks like the Fresh Hop Zoigl Kolsch is hitting distribution as both belmont station and Beermongers has it.

IMO, Crux Pert Near is drinking the same as it did last year. I happen to really like this one, so I am giddy at the moment. As far as I can tell, it's the only FH beer in Bend right now.

FH Pils w/Sterling and... FH Wanderjack w/Strata are on at Milwaukie right now. Only keg of FH Wanderjack we'll get down here, so first come first serve!

Raleigh Hills new seasons had a nice little FH section. Grabbed the Zoigl FH Kolsch & OktoberFresh, Pert Near, and one more of the Breakside Fresh Guy

    Another fantastic FH beer:

Storm breaker Nobody Puts Hazy in a Corner - just a massive fresh hop nose that continues as you sip. Not sure if this will get canned but currently on Draft at their St. Johns Location as well as Beermongers. Definitely worth hunting down.
