That beer is consistently a solid cheaper Ofest option.

Having an old bottle of Coconut Victory at Sea from Ballast Point. Forgot I had this one, probably from 2016-17. It has a little bitter astringency right now, that might just be because it is cold though. Smells a bit fruity but doesn't taste too bad, opening up a little bit I think as it warms with sweet toasty coconut, caramel, vanilla, coffee and charred roasted malts. Cheers all!

Arguably one of the best beer from the Netherlands, at least one that’s widely known and available. Isid’or is maybe even better:

I don't usually buy into the whole Oktoberfest craze. Sure, I like me a Marzen but I never really crave one. Nonetheless, I bought this because I kept hearing about how good it was. And boy did it deliver. What an amazing beer. Will go out and get me some more. Was I drinking the wrong Marzens all this time?

Hot day out here. Found refuge in the basement so I can continue drinking some good beer.

It’s another beautiful afternoon. I just started reading the first volume of Edmund Morris’ trilogy biography of Theodore Roosevelt while enjoying a Helles Lager. Cheers!

Definitely. Only reason I don' have it very often is because I knwow it and it is always around. I do keep a stash of bombers of this Quadrupel for 'you never knwow'. And they keep for ages.
La Trappe Oak Aged is, according to some, the best beer in the World. Hope to bring you some one day. Despite oak aged most edition are not extreme oak in taste.
Try some Zundert when you see it. It is the other Dutch Trappist. Their brothers from La Trappe helped to set up beer production in Zundert.

That’s good to know, and whenever these COVID-19 restrictions are somehow lifted I’m sure we could arrange a meetup. La trappe quadrupel has many many tasty aromas and an excellent bittersweet balance to it. One of the best Quad, and I’ll look up this other Dutch Trappist.

    Cheers!
