Anyone try the J. Rieger whiskey aged in Derivation barrels? Have my Rieger rep trying to track down a bottle for me.

 

So will they re-release bottles not picked up?

 

Bought one for my dad back when it was first released. We both really liked it though I haven't had any other J. Rieger to compare. Could definitely get the stout barrel taste though

 

I thought it was awful. After the first pour, the rest of my bottle has been used in marinades.

 

I bought a bottle when it first came out, though they were in stock for awhile. I really liked it and thought the barrel came through in a good way, though I know a couple purists who saw it as more of a novelty than anything. Wish I still had some, as I'd send a sample

 

Are those red wax bottles 375s? Seem a little skinny from that angle, but could just be perspective.

Haven’t heard anything about that spontaneous Kriek 375 ml in a long time. I wonder if it just didn’t turn out well.

it looks like 750s to me. the wax looks like it goes down too far on the bottle to be a 375 (see OLR v18 bottles, which look hilariously awkward). i will say though, it’s an odd angle / shot.

 

Now a story with QdF in barrels. I’m guessing b3 didn’t turn out as expected then.
