Hey @vurt the Fresh Hop Pils from Occidental is out. @John_M , it's probably going to be stale before you get to it so I'll do my best to drink it all.

I just looked at many photos on Barley Brown's Facebook page of their early morning run to Perreault Farms in Toppenish, WA for fresh Simcoe hop cones.

Which will find their way into Fresh Hop Pallet Jack.

    *weeps* It's so beautiful...

Yep, I knew they were canning it this week. (Yesterday?) I look forward to drinking some this weekend!

Very kind of you Dyan, but I'll take my chances when I get home. Maybe it'll still be barely passable.

You just gotta cut up your shirt and make it work. The fresh hops demand innovation

This is excellent advice. Made the same sort of mistake a week or so back, so stuffed a grocery bag over my snozz instead. Not my best look, but they did let me in.

One thing to consider as well. If a brewery uses fresh hops just to dry hop or in the brite tank, it will be out a lot faster. If you use fresh hops as part of the hot side process, it’s going to be a longer wait.

Mostly talking about why it takes some breweries longer to get out fresh hop beers.

I considered wearing my Carhatt beanie right down over my face and using my knife to cut holes..but i think that would have terrified the girl at the bar!

Swooped in for more Fresh Guy and a trial can of FH Kids These Haze. The former is outstanding and rivals FH Eliot at the top of my list so far this year. The latter pours nearly opaque and provided little FH aroma or flavor. A tasty beer nonentheless, but I'm wondering if the FH character needs more time (just canned today) to rise above the intentional lack of clarity in the brew.

Since I really don't go that many places, I've never developed the habit of grabbing my mask. I would forget it all of the time. Then I put it on the hook with the dog's leash by the front door. Since I take my dog nearly everywhere with me, I haven't forgotten my mask since I put it on the hook.

So just opened up a can of Occidentals Fresh Hop and..........I will be interested in what other people say about it. Doesn't evoke memories of last year's fantastic version fo me.

Interesting...... I thought it was great. Had a few malt forward IPAs beforehand, so the fresh hops and refreshingness (word?) really stood out. Got a lot of fresh hop flavor from the can I drank. But very possible the previous beers I drank accentuated it more than normal

"Intense" is a good word for this beer. Even after reading your post, that big hop punch in the middle caught me off-guard. And that sustained bitterness in the finish is stunning.

This one is my first "dark horse" fresh hop beer of the year. Impressive as hell.
