It's past midnight here on the west coast of the US so I guess it's time for a fresh one of these.

Hope all my night owl and insomniac North/South Americans and Euro BAs are doing well.

Bearded Iris' Double Scatterbrain, a NEIPA brewed with Simcoe and double dry-hopped with Citra.

Much love, but I’m sorry, I don’t think it’s appropriate to start a new thread just because it’s past midnight. Here I am in California, just like you, but I am still thinking about my failures of the day. It’s not Tuesday yet.

    Cheers (halfway through my Yeti):

If any additional BAs and/or moderator(s) have an issue with that, then I would be happy to refrain from doing so in the future. I appreciate your feedback.

Back to the topic at hand...

Have a good Tuesday. I got home last night from Fishers Indiana at 1045PM. @hbbeeremptor I went through that whole album on the drive home, plus 2 Haken Albums. The previous obsession with having to buy beer before leaving the state, but now can just leave really shows how far I have come with my alcoholism, and also my obsessive nature about trying every beer known to man. Taking the slower road on reviews now. Got a solid handful to keep me busy for a bit.

Any way I went to chill with my buddy Mitch downstairs for a bit after I got home. He got a PS4 from his GF last week. Returned to the lair and "chilled out" and listening to music still. Went through about 4 games of chess with another buddy I have from middle school. Funny how some friendships reform in adulthood. Had fun for the 2 weeks in Indiana meeting old college friends; and my roomie from back then and his family. We played at least 10 hours of remote play together games at his house on our laptops, which were streamed from his gaming rig in the bedroom. Bossgard, Uncooked, God's Trigger, and Trine.

I am going to start Parks and Rec from the beginning on Netflix now. I remember enjoying it at one time.

Heretic Chocolate Hazelnut Porter. Excellent American porter. Lasting had retention/soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, roasted hazelnut, biscuit, toast, brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of vanilla, dark fruit, wood, pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, woody, peppery, piney bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and fairly sticky/chalky mouthfeel. Slight lingering resins through the glass. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Awesome complexity of rich malts, hazelnuts; with nice earthy hop presence and mild fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Spot on style example. Loved it. 4.03

This is a sick track, kind of neoclassical riffage going on.

Thinking about firing up some The Outer Worlds now that I have my gaming computer again. I will make sure to set up remote desktop before I leave for Ohio this or next weekend. I can stream games from my desktop over the internet to my laptop if my computer is running. Unfortunately Steam crashed last week when I did it, but I will set up an app called Moonlight to use all my game launchers. My college roommate I stayed with over the weekend used it mainly and recommended it.

Amazing as always. We apparently got a new shipment locally for it. Might grab another pack. Of course the regular will do fine as always if I can't find it.

Of course we've only been on this forum for 12-14 years what do we know. Also you

Back to the grind, pillaged village sounded appropriate. Earthy resin from the hops spoke powerfully. Cheers!

@russpowell - ur post yesterday (ur quote from my post of Eclipse stouts) the pic with all of the FIftyFifty bottles was taken inside of Coaltrain...

@micada - see my reply to russpowell above re: your post yesterday...I wouldn't complain if they were all mine, but...

Coaltrain's asking price is $30 a bottle (but if you buy two or more they knock the price down to $25 a piece)...

A very surprising find for France and especially on the shelves of a French supermarket instead of online, The Truth, the Imp IPA from Flying Dog.

No complaints, it’s a more than decent beer and I’m happy to not have to order it from some web shop.

Last drawing from me only from last evening. I’m never too happy about them, but maybe I am improving.

I use midnight Hawaii time as my rule of thumb to start a thread if I'm up at that time (5 AM CST, 3 AM PST), between 4-5 CST if the previous thread is dead (hour plus).

Was able to score several bottles at $10 per during a COVID clearance sale in May, made two trips to grab several different varieties, and several aged Jester Kings (2015-2017), among other offerings for the same price. Can't wait to try.

Speaking of Cali time, clearing the fridge and came across this collaboration from two of my favorite San Diego brewers.

Likely won't see these again, but this aged well in the fridge, a bit more mellow and balanced. Really like it and great start to a rainy Tuesday in Chicago. Only stayed out a few minutes as it is cold and I want to avoid pulling out jeans for as long as possible (haven't worn since May).
