    I don't think so...Ryeway isn't a stout, but Thundertaker is.

This is a crowler-fied @GuyFawkes talking, so I may be WAY off.

Well if it's any consolation, when I called 2 or 3 of the down state Binny's a couple of days ago they all seemed to have no idea what I was talking about so that could be good news for you and bad news for us downstaters.

Just reread the description, and you're right. I got thrown off in my sleep-deprived state, and I read Ryeway as "Imperial Rye Ale" and the same for Thundertaker. Thundertaker, however, is an "imperial Rye stout."

What the fuck is an Rye stout??????

A stout that uses a considerable amount of rye as well as barley.

Ryeway is basically a barleywine that uses an considerable amount of rye, as well as barley.

Again, crowler-fied. Check my work, I beg you.

Here for ANY Trailer Park Boys reference.

Forget the barrels...the base beers are different here.

Thundertaker is a stout using rye and barley as grains; Ryeway is as barleywine using rye and barleywine as grains.

Any barrel differences are only additional variations. Two completely different beers.

Same here. And my rewards total is 1190 before this order (was worried the number would be 1200 and I would just miss the presale).

I'm told all stores except the Champaign location. Not sure exactly why, but probably related to logistics.

Wonder if Binny's will set a higher price than Revolution's $30/4 pack like they did with the TG Barrel Slayer collaboration ($50 in Decorah, $80 at Binny's). The beer isn't listed yet on their website.

    https://www.binnys.com/blog/post/toppling-goliath-barrel-slayer

Decorah is 5 hours away, so wouldn't expect as high of one if they do charge a premium. Max profitz, not just for beer "traders".

Is everyone part of Revolution's reward program except me!? I always thought I wasn't at the taproom enough (2-3 times a year maybe) to warrant getting one.

You can sign up for the program online.

    https://revolutionbrewing.alohaenterprise.com:4430/memberlink/NewAccount.html

They do track dollars spent (which is how some received the opportunity to pre-order) so use your membership # (once you have one) when you are spending money in person or online through their website.

I signed up a few years ago and went a few times a year in person but buying the Deep Woods stuff really rockets your points up. You're really missing out on a) pre-orders and b) discounts when you accrue points.

I would expect a price increase, since they did that on two of the 4pks last year:
Cafe taproom release was $30 and Binny's sold it for $32.99, while Ryeway was $30 / $33.99.

Agreed, a 10-20% mark-up would be reasonable, and worth the convenience for those living in the Deep Suburbs. The 60% TG Barrel Slayer markup ($80 vs. $50) was not. There were still a few 2019 October release Deep Woods 4 packs left at a few of the Binny's I've visited this summer.

Glad to have the opportunity to purchase direct from Revolution, and accrue rewards points as well. Even for folks like Eppie who visit a few times a year, with 1-2 Deep Wood pickups, you may not spend enough to receive pre-sale links, but you will get a $20 discount for $300 spent, and there is no expiration requirements so earning over 1, 2 or 3 years still makes it worth the minimal signup effort. You also get a 5 oz sample on new releases, though that has been suspended during the COVID reopen stage.
