Good evening. Took a few days off, and now enjoying this while celebrating my daughter's birthday. The smoke is starting to clear (at least in our area) - saw blue sky for the first time in a while today! Cheers!

Being simultaneously interested in Fresh Hops and Oktoberfest biers is proving to be hard on the wallet and hard on the fridge space as well as hard on the liver.

Wife wants to cook, we have no room to put food...eat more or drink more? I'll enjoy this Fremont Festbier while I think about it.

At home now, Houston never gets cold fronts anymore, we now get "less humid fronts"

Anyway, for this "less humid front" might as well open a 512 Pecan Porter.

Spinning Medeski Martin & Wood Radiolarian Set. This is all three Radiolarian albums, plus live show, plus remixed album, plus DVD of behind the sense of the live shows. I have always been a huge fan of MM&W, even more so when these albums came out as I worked my way through a Geology degree studying mico fossils ha. Picked more Foraminifera, Radiolarians, and Ostracods than I can remember from core and sediment samples :slight_smile:So these just naturally grabbed my attention, and being amazing was just par for the coarse with this band.

Ending the night with a 2016 Central Waters Brewer's Reserve Bourbon Barrel Scotch Ale. Love this one, even more than the stout, lot of malt complexity, toasted brown bread, caramel, toffee, some dried fruit, smoke, marshmallowy vanilla, bourbon oak barrel, real nice beer. Decided to pour a little bourbon too cuz why not? Cheers!

I am working in the best city in the world and I am a pizza maker. May not be quite as ambitious to some but it is a dream.

Interesting! I have both of those as well. Same vintage too. Haven't opened Weller yet. Bought it last summer. I guess it's about time to crack it open.

I very rarely ever buy big hard liquor bottles. I got this Weller cuz a couple of my friends were telling me how good it was and it was only $35 where I got it so I figured it was a deal. I've tried some different whiskeys and bourbons at bars but I usually never buy a full bottle. I did get a whole set of Johnnie Walker 200mls, from Blue down just to try them after I had one of them, and I enjoy the Scotch blends. I originally thought this Weller was a bit hot, but right now I'm sipping on it neat with no ice or water and it's tasting good, sweet candied and caramelized, maybe because it's been opened and sitting around for about a year. Could be the beer on hand too. I got a couple GoT Johnnie Walker bottles that were cheap, White Walker, A Song of Ice and A Song of Fire cuz my brother wanted a bottle, and I have a Diplomatico Reserva Rum that a friend had me try at a bar once and I had to buy when I saw a bottle, another ~$30 one. Other than that I don't usually buy or even drink spirits unless it is a sampling or with a friend. I like a mixed drink too but with all the beers I have it's hard to even find time to drink other things. I know the hard liquor can age after it's open so that's why I got them. Recently saw the other beverages forum so now I know it's ok to post things other than just beer here. For the record, I think this combo is pretty good, and maybe any bourbon would be good with a bourbon barrel aged beer like a scotch ale. Only thing left to do now is roll up a Game blunt.
