@micada is the man to consult here, but from what I understand, it's just cheddar cheese. Going to low-and-slow fry them in cast iron tonight (with margarine), and pair with some roasted broccoli and some chicken; I have yet to figure out my sauce of choice, but I'm thinking a dijon-based sauce. Three completely different components, but if every one of them is delicious, then no one should complain.

As far as pumpkin beers are concerned, this one is very good. Cheers!

    Cheers, Advocates!

Sticking with lager. Rye lager. Which also nicely fits the season. This one from Moonraker and courtesy of @Snrubnivek. It’s very good.

“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”

And while @LarryV may not appreciate me using my name next to his when it comes to guitar playing, I have respect for putting one’s self out there, and the level of talent after which these amateur hands strive.

With that, I imitate the man with a (very easy) “name that tune” snippet from one of my favorite guitarists.

Eeenteresting. I wonder if you got a bad or old batch of Boss Tweed; I remember liking M-43 more, but I have them rated almost identically on BA. Not that I've had a bunch of them to try, of course.

I was most impressed with how Old Nation got perhaps closest of the Midwest breweries to the New England smoothness - without needing to add oats, wheat, and lactose.

Home now having my first of these, sadly glad I only purchased a single.
There is to me an unpleasant sweet thread, not caramel like Sam Adams.
But tilted toward grain and sweet adjunct.

    Do good
    Be well

Not trying to start anything here, but who the hell puts just straight up cheddar inside of perogies? You can make them sweet or savory. Never any meat. But it can be a combo of things. Sauteed cabbage and onions, various mashed potato combo filling (that would include cheddar), farmer's cheese (cottage cheese and ricotta-like). Or with sweet fillings, like cherries or blueberries or cherries and farmer's cheese.

Potato is the typical filling. Some have potato and cheese. Maybe bacon too. Old school Polish pierogies can also have cabbage, a personal favorite.

@HopfenUndMalzGottErhalts , that 5 Liter mini keg looks awesome. Really liked my first Hofbrau Oktoberfest the other day, God willing won’t be my last.

Second beer today at Revolution’s Brew Pub, a 9 oz draft of Thundertaker, a collaboration with Binny’s using their Blanton’s and Buffalo Trace barrels for their Imperial Rye Stout. $10, 14.6% ABV, big time in the early afternoon. How will this all end?! Hopefully not in jail.

Appearance: Dark black brown pour, tan white bubbly ring circles the ring of the glass. 4.0

    Aroma:
Nice sharp rye aroma, smooth bourbon backs well. Similar to Ryeway to Heaven, bourbon bold and smooth letting this sit for several minutes. Edges sweet. 4.25

    Taste:
Very sweet rye leads. Bourbon emerges slightly 15 minutes in, nice but subtle. Tastes like a barley wine, sweetness grape, like a cuvée of Revolution’s Ryeway to Heaven and Straight Jacket. Very sweet, perhaps a bit too sweet. Bourbon ABV very potent, though bourbon is definitely background. As it warms, the bourbon emerges and kicks you in the ass. Planned a third possible pour but this is more than enough to cap an afternoon. Excellent. 4.5.

Mouthfeel: Thin for a BA stout, though creamy. No carbonation, easy smooth drinking. 3.75

    Overall:
Powerfully strong Rye stout, bourbon smooth, powerful, smooth and excellent. Sweet, similar to Straight Jacket taste, and thinner than expected. Uniquely Revolution, really like it, glad I have four more. Will cellar a few and enjoy the rest soon. 4.25

I’m too old for serious day drinking. Aborting the third planned pour.

Edit: Black on at the Brewpub, this place ROCKS!!!

Glowing Worms In The Dark is a Triple India Pale Ale with Idaho 7, Cashmere, and Mosaic Hops.

This beer is servicable but only a fraction of the quality of their TIPA I tried a couple hours ago. Seems these guys may be a tad inconsisitent.
