Hello all. I've heard good things about this place from a co-worker and I'm in the general beer minority that likes this borderline non-beer art of the ultra fruit dessert sour (at least that's what I gather these frose beers are about).

For those that frequent Kings, what are the general can releases like on the weekend? I'm driving almost 2 hrs away and just wanted to get an idea on how early to show up.

    Thanks and cheers to all.

Most Frose releases are on Friday at 1pm. Its hard to guage how the release will go. Sometimes you can walk right up, no line with beers lasting until Saturday and other times there is a pretty long line at release time. Normally if you get there by 3pm on release day you should be good. Hope this helps

Surprised someone actually brought these guys on radar as they are underappreciated, much like NPBC was. Ironic how some see through the lines & realize, oh shit!

You'll need to be on both their site & insta as things change frequently. Additionally you'll also want to grab the app they use digital pour so you're aware of What they have available. if it states special crown then it will be available as either a brite can, crowler (previously grunts but same thing in glass) or 4 packs. mileage may vary but inquire within & reference that app as will help you. suggest you check out their glass bong & kookamunga fog (collab w/humble sea) have fun & perhaps i'll see you there sometime as i frequent from home (SD) & nearby.

Haha yeah I sort of knew about this place before the coworker brought it up. Rancho Cucamonga isn't as far as I thought. Is there much to see or any must eat at places up there? All I really know about Rancho Cucamonga is that the movie Next Friday was either filmed there or just used the name as the location setting and it's close to Wrightwood(Mtn High).

Your best bet is to go to foodland aka victoria gardens as the missus & I refer to it as. All good stuff there however holiday cafe is not too far & is good bang for your buck. Also their taproom is open BUT you must order food from the vendor they are utilizing. (something poke, iirc) & you have to show the person that sits you your receipt in order to be allowed to drink onsite. no flights so keep that in mind.

    Enjoi.

I've been burned far too many times by Kings. They make a lot of bad, overpriced beer. I don't recommend the two hour drive just for this place.

Not really. People like them for budget versions of hype styles. They produce below-average to average at best beer, and some are just awful.

You win some & then you lose some, no different than any other place that's for sure.

I'll have to disgaree. They are not a consistent brewery. There are breweries that are far more consistent, producing better beer. I'd rather give my money to those.

I remember they made an ipa that looked like green sewage. After that and finding nothing but cereal as options for snacks I was done with that shit hole. It's definitely a brewery that makes shit tier hyped beers.

Hence my previous reply. The locals however, will beg to differ. I'm no local. they are however consistent in the sense of their frose's. To add, these guys, 450, some of mortalis's, sandbox & imprint follow in the same footsteps.

Yes most of their beers aren't anything special, but the Frose's are usually very good. They are the only reason that I go to Kings for. IMO they are as good or better than most others making that style.

Yeah I dont know where the hatred for this brewery came in. Im curious about a style and my local beer store said they were in the same vein as 405N which gets trade value on the national level from what I've seen.

I can understand that sometimes brewers put out bad stuff. I've checked out their ratings and yeah it looks pretty hit or miss. For this style locally MT has not canned their ultra fruited -nomicons which would be a great option. Loved Tikicito from North Park and I think this kind of style is coming up more but might not be the easiest thing to pull off well bc I just hate the yeastiness that sometimes comes with berliners and some of the MT fruitlands or the non-nomicon berliners have so frequently.

It sucks that if anything I trust Bugletrp more than anyone else on this thread. I'm not crazy for the release for tomorrow. I'm still going to give them a chance if not this weekend. I know Rancho Cucamonga isn't known for its riveting coastal trails or anything like that but it's a different scenary and worth checking out IMHO.
