Revolution Brewing (2020)

Asked last night. They hinted towards 50 packs...Was told 1pp.

 

I usually just pick a random 4 pack and then chat with the shopper. They can just switch it. Have gotten hop butcher a few times too

 

4 pp at Wheeling and I only bought one. Them, AH and LZ binnys was only 6 cases.

Damn Riverlands.

 

Bloomington/Normal Binnys had a limit of (2) 4 pks pp and had 4 cases on the floor behind the CS counter not sure if they had anymore in back, @flat_lander was trying to get me to chug one in the parking lot but that would have made my afternoon Dr's appt interesting.

 

Was there early and picked up a four pack. Have to ask them for it as it’s in the back. Seems like they had a decent amount as they had only a few people ask for it at the time I was in there around 10:30.

 

Hopefully they will still have some in like an hour...currently helping brother move stuff from storage unit in Edgewater area....

 

Tastes like a Ryeway to Heaven / Straight Jacket cuvée.

Sweet, but not overpowering, Bourbon emerges if you let this warm enough, not subtle, though smooth and excellent. Not necessarily what I expected, but definitely glad I ordered a draft and have cans for down the road.

I grabbed one 4pack also, but now there are only four 4packs left as of 20 min ago.

 

Here in the Midwest it’s called FUPA. Hillbillies down south call them ‘gocks’ or ‘gunts.’

 

FYI - they ran out of buns (should be getting more soon), and you need to grill these brats yourself. Prost!

 

Did he tell you that you're doing it wrong? Feels like medical malpractice otherwise.

 

followup - these were 6 juicy fresh brats, all still connected. Took a while to grill them at low heat to bring them up to 160/165, but they are excellent, and match perfectly with the beer.

if you have a 5 year old, I recommend maple syrup instead of mustard on one...

 

I think it's great. Definitely the roasted malt character you expect from a stout, but I can see the comparison to the barleywines. If you had Deth Ryed, this carries similar traits. I've always felt like Straight Jacket is bourbon candy, this hits like a chocolate rye version, if that makes sense.

 

Descriptions are right on for me, and sample size of 1, this is a top-tier DW Beer, IMO.

 

As a card-carrying Revolution Fanboy FUPA God, my opinion should be discounted out of hand.

However, I'm absolutely LOVING my first can...complex, rich, but easy to enjoy. Dangerously so, considering the ABV...
