Broke outta work to visit a winery/brewery. Went with Barrel Oak Farm Brewery’s Oktoberfest (BOFtoberfest):


Simple enough, not too bad.

 

$9 A beer across the board??

 

Had a slow day at work today and had a couple of beers just to kill time. Why stop just because the work day is over, right?

Other Half DDH Citra+Galaxy, 8.5% ABV double IPA.
Creamy, fruity and super smooth. This is a beautiful beer. Cheers!

Having dinner at Ruth Chris tonight. Until then some lizard king with shrimp quesadilla will suffice. Lizard king is the perfect pale ale imo. Please revisit it if you haven't had it in a while cheers

 

Yeah, it’s outrageous (I think it was $7 last time here, which is high but not outrageous for the area). We’ll go under the guise of helping a small farm place out, I guess

Dropkick Murphys "Mick Jones Nicked My Pudding"


I'm alsodrinking a beer from this Polish brewery: Funky Fluid.
This beer is there
THE NEXT EPISODE (6.4%).
A West Coast Ipa with Citra, Simcoe, Azacca, Mosaic and Tomahawk hops.
Bought at the end of August, expiry date shown on the label: 02/04/2021.
Immediately citric and herbaceous on the nose, hops also arrive on the nose.
Dark and opaque yellow, classic hazy yellow, cloudy (you could already see it without opening the bottle, against the light).
In the mouth, a beautiful bouquet of tropical and citric fruit that fades into a herbaceous more bitter than dry beer, but still remains on the tongue even after drinking (with some hints of fruit to invite another sip).
A little flat, the carbonation is almost imperceptible.
Velvety beer, very reminiscent of a New England or in any case a Hazy Ipa with yeast which softens the impact of the hops (which, in this case, you feel that they have been used in large quantities).
Very balanced, drinkable and bitter.
Fresh, not heavy and non-trivial.
After the disappointment of Gelato Pastry Sour blackberry and blueberry (can burst), this brewery has redone in my opinion because this is a really nice beer and bought at a great price for its quality.

Trillium - Daily Serving: Mango & Passion Fruit

 

Wifey continues doing on-line trainings on the back porch. I continue to try new beers. This one is Pumpkinhead by Shipyard. I thought I gave it a poor review, calling it a pretty piddling example of a pumpkin ale. After I posted my review, I looked at the BA average and such. I rated it 3.47, which was 14.3% above its BA average of 3.03. Perhaps I'm not as adept at identifying a bad beer as I like to think.

Second one for the night (7th if you count work beers) and I think I'm off to bed.

Gamma Brewing in collaboration with loads of other Danish breweries, CPH Beer Week, 5% ABV pale ale.
The official beer for CPH Beer Week taking place in a few weeks. Unfortunately the event has been scaled down immensely in these times but still seems like it's gonna be a great week with tons of great beers.
A great crushable beer with light citrus notes and a bit of sweetness.

 

Happy birthday, and here's hoping that your next revolution around the sun is memorable in more pleasant ways than your last. I think I speak for several of us with more miles on the odometer than you when I say enjoy those young joints while you have them! (once the ACL knee is back to 100%)
