Also, it’s odd that FFF’s Black is Beautiful went from 16oz bottle/4packs to 12oz bottle/6packs.

It has. Their version is essentially a well hopped stout (or black IPA) for the 2 or 3 people who missed the style.

 

It was labeled as a plain oatmeal stout but yeah, was definitely not what I would have thought when trying it. Your description is much more accurate. I didn't really care much for it.

 

Way to make people hate oatmeal stouts floyds. Well done. Great work. Why not just an oatmeal stout?

 

Are they really still going with that? They sell beer in grocery stores? Come on

 

I drain poured my Crack the Sky years ago when I first had it because it was horrifically hoppy, and I have no interest in trying it again.

Others have reported that they didn’t get that, but others have.

Not in the market anyway, but definitely would be avoiding their BiB like the plague after reading this.

 

Yeah I never found Skye to be particularly hoppy, per se. Especially nothing like Blot Out the Sun.

And locally for me, Hoppin Frog's stouts are fairly hoppy, but when they go overboard they label it a Black IPA.
