For some reason the image looked too clean for that vintage. But I'll plead ignorance because I didn't really get into SciFi until later.

Beertunes I also envision as a different twist on Dave because of age. Long dark hair, scruffy beard wearing an AC/DC shirt in shorts and flip flops. Maybe a 30 ish version of Dave. Other that those two I’ve never thought about it.

But I am surprised that most are a bit older than I thought on average. I’m old but immature at heart.

Used to have long hair, but, I didn't want to be the bald guy with a ponytail. My beard is not scruffy, I haven't shaved since 1979, so it's fully grown in. Don't own an AC/DC shirt (although, I did see them in '78, with Bon Scott, on a triple bill with Thin Lizzy and Blue Oyster Cult). And, I'm double 30-ish.

It would probably not surprise anybody to know that I know every word and song of that episode by heart, I've seen it so many times.:rolling_eyes::wink:

Captain Kirk was a 20s gangster in one episode- or he foiled a gangster plot, I forget. Spock had to hide his ears. Topical news was always fodder for Roddenberry. That stuff is planted in my brain.

I've seen a lot of episodes in reruns and know many of the cultural references, but action & adventure was more my thing then.

Then came historical drama and westerns -- never really waded into Science Fiction. Although, Blade Runner and Alien grabbed my attention.

Years ago, I was riding with a major wine supplier in Charlotte. He was toasted and sleep deprived, looked up, and said, "This is one Blade-Runner fucking looking town". And he was right being a D.C. original. He was a regular at The Willard Hotel. It was fun to watch.

I am a manufacturers representative in the housewares and hardware industry. At the Housewares show a year ago, one of my manufacturers had a pancake artist in the booth. This is his rendition of me as a pancake. It does look like me and , on occasion, I do smell of maple syrup and butter ( diacetyl?)

I know he was exaggerating, but I don't know if there's any town like Blade Runner's LA.* Yet. :grimacing:

*I just remembered -- that was supposed to be 2019! :scream:
