Dude, you confused the shit out of me w/ this post...From what I read, you were in the SAME line 3 times w/ the frothing neck beards apparently ready to give Clark YOUR money too, correct?

How is it the neck beards are buying BS in a barrel & you're not, (you're in the same line)? I'm still so confused:flushed:!!

I believe your post is the true definition of hypocrisy!

This same shit gets said every time they have a big release.

"How can they justify that price?"
    "$100 for 12oz, OMG"
    "You guys can have it"
    "It's not even that good"

Okay, fine. I don't know why anyone feels the need to tell someone that they aren't participating in something, but whatever. Plenty of people will sign up, line up, do what needs done to get their hands on limited TG stuff. You do you, but this isn't going to change anytime soon, and your comments are either just for your own echo chamber, or are falling on deaf ears.

LOL. Ok, lets start from the top. The lines are from Covid pre cautions, and not a release. I am not there for the stouts, nor am I paying an insane amount per ounce for any of their beers.

Hope that helps clear it up...

I’m sure Clark will not be losing any sleep over this. I have never understood the uproar/butthurt over beer prices. Supply and demand right? If they make a shit product or charge too much then they will have an excess supply left over and adjust accordingly. For TG, to date, this has not happened. Clark is not sitting on hundreds of bottles of unsold KBBS in his cellar. Are these beers expensive? Yes, they are. Will they sell out? Very likely. Are they worth it? That’s in the eye of the beholder/beer drinker.

Disclaimer: I am an unashamed TG fanboy but my point relates to all places selling expensive beers to make a profit and stay in business especially in these more difficult times.

Discussion about the high price of certain beers is dumb? OKayyy.

You do you, but this is a discussion that's going on all over the country, & not just about $50 bombers of barrel aged imperial stout. There are a lot of ramifications of overpriced craft beer & it's a legitimate point of discussion (not that every post is legit....).

The same discussion about the same brewery over a period of years gets tiresome, yes.

I understand that they're expensive, but at this point TG hasn't priced themselves out of anything. They consistently sell. Enough people have determined that there's value above and beyond the "retail" price point that there's literally no reason to bring the price down.

No discussion is "dumb", this one has just been done to death.

Yea looks like it. I just checked. There was never a date set to end entries but I asked and they sent me to their info page which didn’t have an end date

This is a discussion forum about TG..... If you dont like the conversation going on why join in at all then, especially if its just so tiresome for you?

    From my last visit:
2 pours of their pils 16oz $4.50 each.
1 pour of DDH King Sue 12oz $6
    1 pour of Sosus 12oz $6

Total $21 or $.37 an once

$112 for the bottles comes to $1.70 an ounce... Little bit of a difference eh?

Be careful not to get neckbeard froth on you while you are there giving Clark money for your price efficient beers. Can never be too careful during these Covid times.

$1.70 (or the actual number if you do the math correctly) isn't bad... if you disagree you are probably in the the wrong hobby. Insane is voodoo charging $1000 for a 12 oz PVW black magick that you have to drink onsite.

You also have some omissions from what you paid during your last visit. Last time I was at the tap room (in May) they also charged about 6% sales tax on top of the pour price. Given the nature of your post... is it safe to assume you didn't tip? Also, considering the closest spot in in Michigan is 354 miles (~6 hours) from Decorah, and the government mileage rate is 57.5 cents/mile, you conservatively spent ~$400 just getting to Decorah. Even if you split that amongst friends, that's an awful lot of money. Let's not even get started on the (at least) 12 hours wasted in the car... to go get some shelfies on draft.

IMO, doing all that calculating is more neckbeardy than anything else mentioned here, considering neckbeard is just a mild (and often non-pejorative term of endearment) slur for beer geeks that doesn't really mean anything besides someone who stands in line for beer and/or geeks out over it. That you took the time to consider all that is about as geeky as it gets.

And before any "NO YOU!"...I'm not making myself out to be immune from the same label, I'm just saying there's a fuck ton of unnecessarily condescending hypocrisy here. And if you are actually still in Michigan, that just makes it even worse, considering how out of the way you went for a pour of some golden beers. Especially from my vantage point, since all of that is distributed here in Ohio.

I've seen offers well above that (1300-1400) this summer go unanswered this summer.
