For me, garnishes with beer would fall under the acronym IDGAFF (I don’t give a flying fuck).

Taking things too seriously again. Drink what YOU like and put whatever YOU want in it because hedonism. Fuck it. Beer isn't a protected species, let it get wild. Or keep it traditional if you prefer. Whatever. Enjoy life.

I could see the right kind of rim seasoning working really well with some of the sour/wild/mixed ferm styles. Might have to experiment with that a bit

I've seen Old Bay used on beer glass rims. I'm personally not a fan of garnishes in beer. Aside from changing the flavor of the beer it's also just too messy.

I ate at some of those stands while in L.A. they are fun, preferably the cocatels you can get.

Down here we can get all sorts of stuff in the Latin character on the East coast, some things are more prevalent depending where on the East coast you are.

Where I am we already have a big seafood tradition in the DC/VA/Maryland area cause of the Chesapeake Bay, so shrimp is not really what people go for in general.

First time I got a spiced rim craft beer was at Cape Charles brewing a couple years ago. I ordered the pumpkin (don't judge) and I got what looked like an amber/brown with Cinnamon Toast Crunch flotsam surrounding the rim. I internally questioned if it was a "true" pumpkin (whether the spices were in the brewing process or not) but just kept my mouth shut. I may just have to survey the bar for other spiced rims before ordering there from now on.
