I enjoyed your post of All Bad the other day. Kept listening then downloaded the whole album. He always had superior skills. My only wish is it were all Nas. He doesn’t need to fill with lesser (in my view) acts, but I get it. Pull those fans in. Thanks for sharing.

Mediocre round of golf, but I won six dollars.
    Elevated IPA after the round.

Seven Island is a Greek brewery renowned for their huge stouts. This is the first one I try, Moctezuma Bourbon Barrel Aged. It weighs in at a hefty 14 % and is a real slugger! This ranks among the very best barrel aged stouts I’ve had, stunning stuff.

Too hot and humid to stay outside...a second Jai Alai as I write some birthday cards:

Canned 9/11/20. Good stuff under 4 weeks old, and apparently the best I can do living 40 minutes west of the brewery...

Jr. Z has three 12 hour night shifts starting this evening, so I’ve got to get going on early dinner prep. Cheers Now brethren!

Oud Beersel - Green Walnut - Lambic based - 2018

    Surprisingly tasteful.
I expected it to be good (big Oud Beersel fan).
But it's better than I expected.
The walnut adds bitterness to what is a very fresh and dry geuze.
But it's a different bitterness than what you get from hops.

Agreed. He starts out with five unique story lines going on simultaneously but with no common threads, then spends the next 500 pages masterfully weaving them together. Never would work on-screen. BTW... I have all of the Clancy original fiction works (none of the Mark Greaney-authored ones). If we ever do a beer trade, I can throw in a Clancy paperback you might need. My wife has been bugging me for 20 years to take them down to a used bookstore. I would much rather share them with another Clancy reader, than to get a lousy $2/book.

Cherry brown colored body; thick and densely textured bone-white head; cascading rings of foam line the inside of the glass. Molasses and dates on the nose; maraschino cherries; brown sugar. Richly sweet flavors; boozy; dates and figs, other dried fruits; boozy; very subtle bitterness. Heavy body; smooth and oily on the palate; bold alcohol warmth.

The bourbon barrel aging stands out prominently with this beer, and is needed to cut through the inherent heavy sweetness. It all works.

Yes I'll take them, and yes we should trade. Send me a list of your books. I love how all his books are a weave of like 5 plot lines, every time. This is all I really have right now. I used to have Rainbow six, but I left it at my parents house, and they got rid of it. I have read a few Op Center ones, real good stuff.

Whats the Tales of The Crypt I see peeking in the back? Halloween decor or just a collectible? Loved that series as a kid!

    Maisel & Friends (Germany) - Hopfenreiter 2020.

This year's Hopfenreiter may well be my favorite yet. It's got a very definitive old school, East Coast vibe to it, with a solid malt backbone and good balance of fruity and herbal and resinous, almost earthy hop notes, as well as a great, piney bitterness in the finish. While it's quite sweet, it's also quite bitter, so that balances itself out nicely.
