Maybe...maybe with cooler weather (standard dark beer weather) approaching I'll just state my hope again that Kane cans Morning Bell and sends it to distribution with the other beers we've been seeing in stores.

They did push the bottles out to Wegmans I believe in early days of the lockdown. I don't have issues with the 500 ML format, cost isn't too ridiculous comparatively to their competitors. Would be interesting to see how cans would be priced. I do think MB has always been a late winter/early spring release lately (in general terms) so who knows. I am curious if we see anniversary sets/bottles if they are 500ML or 750ML formats this year

I noticed just now on the delivery site they have DDH Party Wave (Nelson & Riwaka) but didn't announce it on their socials. Might have to run down on my break and grab some, PW + some NZ hops, hitting all the right marks for me with what I like

I’m having a can of Indicators right now, canned 9/18/20, and it gotta say: it’s a real disappointment. Lots of sweet, honeyed biscuit malt flavor. Just a kiss of hops. Drinks more like a regular pale than an IPA.

It’s 18 days after canning so yeah it’s not right off the line but a well-made IPA should be able to hold up for a solid month at the very least. Not at all worth the ~$17.99 I paid & Wegmans. Not the indicators I remember. Sad.

Yeah, thats sucks, usually Kane IPAs hold up rather well, I had a 3 month old Waimea Pro over the weekend and it was still real good.

They've been talking about this for a while, Kane announced* "Field & Oak - a Spontaneous and Saison Beer Project"

*not gonna lie, when my notification went off for this post, I thought/hoped it was going to be for the Anniversary beer. This project; however, sounds really cool.

Going to take a whole lot for Kane to -in my eyes, at least- set their program apart from Referend's here in a positive way. Happy to see them give this a try though, and it sounds like they're approaching it patiently and seriously so I'm excited to see what it's like.

    Been waiting forever for this!
I will say that the BA Apiary w/ Peaches was better than any of the offerings I have been able to try from Referend IMO, it was pushing HF level. I also haven't had a ton of Referend and certainly not their most sought after beers, part of that is the high cost also which I am hopeful won't be the same here at Kane. Even if it is in the same dollar value as Referend, Kane is much more accessible for me as well. I am extremely excited for what Kane is doing here, and I know the team there is very meticulous about the product they put out. Been waiting for this since the second they started bringing equipment in across the lot to start this up years ago. Fingers crossed

Don't want to be too much of a downer, but I wouldn't get your hopes up for "affordable" prices relative to Referend or other Kane beers. The style and technique is simply more expensive to perform... this isn't like pastry stouts and barrel-aged beers, where prices have been creeping up in part due to the process but mostly due to increasing demand.

You are talking to the top downer, no worries ha! Yeah I assume these are going to more expensive than anything they currently put out, I am curious to what format we will see them in 500ML or 750ML. Hoping they are a bit less than what Referend offers, but the main reason I don't get Referend as often is it is a hassle for me to get to, and I stocked up well on 3F and Cantillon when I visited Brussels last year

Looks like Kane is now doing a reservation only outdoor tasting area! Looks like some new beers on tap as well

I prefer that to the sweltering heat out there, anyone who's waited in a long line out there int he summer knows it gets unreal. Also, inside its just as cold as outside, you just a get a bit of protection from the wind, so I don't mind bundling up lol

swung by Kane this weekend for the first time post march closures. I almost had a bit of decision paralysis with all of their to-go options. I didn't want to go overboard so grabbed a 4pk of DDH Party Wave, Turtle board, Outer Reef, and Exposed Coast.

Also was able to grab a bottle of the almond dream and saturday night lights. Looking forward to cracking one of these open this weekend.

Not relevant to Kane but I had that DDH Alien Church (Riwaka) from Tired Hands the other day. What a nice hop (and outstanding beer btw)

I had an Almond Dream over the weekend and was underwhelmed. The flavors are rather muddled together. Not one of Kane's best dark beers.
