    Bramble Candy from Crux -- nice, jammy, tart, with an interestingly thick mouthfeel and a surprisingly bitter finish.

    Dinner was chili verde tostadas.

    My intent was to start with a new fresh hop (Wetwired from Cloudburst), but my fridge has once again chosen my beer for me by flinging the same row of beer on the ground and again cracking just a single beer's seal -- again just enough to make it a mandatory drink choice without even making a real mess.

    Divine intervention?

    ...priming myself to go out of retirement tomorrow (once again, this year, just for a day - christ on a Friday - when will I learn to say "no" to 'helping out' when all I want to do is lay around, scratch, and work on sudoku puzzles?)...it's all wild and woolly...

    ...a new beer, but have a few others in reserve, so a more or less proper review later when the mind gears are meshing properly...initial impressions: a damn fine beer...

    IMHO a DDH version of an IPA is a different beer and should be added separately. Otherwise, reviewers are comparing apples to oranges so to speak.

    Double Helix by Thin Man. Imperial oat porter. It’s pretty decent. I get a lot of milk chocolate flavor on the back, similar to the Yuengling Hershey’s porter. Another recent porter I don’t despise. Price-wise, Yuengling is the clear winner at $10/6 or $18/12. You lose a little ABV, but the flavor differences IMHO don’t justify the price of the Thin Man.

    I was super disappointed this didn't come out last year, it's my absolute favorite beer.

    I was lucky enough to get two 4 packs which will be all gone by Monday morning I'm sure.
