@MunsonRoyE felt the need to bomb my porch with two boxes Box 1 with an awesome Burial glass I've already used multiple times. The complete porch destruction of both boxes with some homegrown ghost peppers sure to destroy my intestines. Thanks again Brendan! Day 0 beer. Had a pretty good idea this would be a smoothsicle because I had two other ones the day prior. And my guess was right. They were all fantastic!
My porch was smashed by @locoformavs on Saturday, and as most everyone saw on slack I've gotten into quite a few of the extras and the chugs. Looking forward to the wrapped contents of this box and for some reason there is another box on the way. The wrapped bootles The extras: Family shot: Thanks Logan - this is going to be a fun two week before Halloween box.
Day 1, glass selection based on candy pairing, Dark and thick appearance, maple, bourbon, pistachio in the smell. Sweet and sticky maple, coffee, hint of bourbon and more sweetness, maybe marshmallow? Hint of alcohol warming but none in the taste.
Day 1 is in the books here. ABV and bourbon barrel became more evident as it warmed. I have been wanting to try this and it was excellent! @jschott75 Thanks
Day 1 from @corm44, I knew it was going to be a sour from the candy.. citrusy and tangerine smells... Reveal.. Curtains III from Hudson Valley, very nice and smooth. Thanks
Day #1 nice bourbon barrel age stout delicious but can’t put my finger on it. Grey Monday @beatjunkee hit it out of the park with this one, this was on my want list thanks again
Day 1 from @BartS: Paired with See’s Extra Dark Chocolate. Cap revealed Bottle Logic. My nose immediately thought a Mexican chocolate stout. Something along Leche Borracho. The taste was barrel and chocolate with a spiciness bit no heat! As it warmed coffee came out. the reveal: Red Eye November! The rye was the spice. This paired amazingly with the dark chocolate. A long time want right off the bat! Thanks, Bart!
The time has arrived All beers are poured and handed to me blind by GF who has more patience than a saint when it comes to my beer nerdery... Day 1 - Paired with Sugarfina Bourbon Cold Brew Bears The cold brew gummies are fucking delicious, as soon as we opened the bag the room smelled of bourbon coffee. My inkling is that this will be a BA coffee stout. Beer was poured blind but as soon as I smelled it (and really when I saw the candy pairing) I was sure it was a stout. Slight sweetness on the nose and lots of barrel character. I get a lot of roast/coffee notes on the back end that is very pleasant. I honestly don't know where this beer is from, assuming GA/SC/FL area based on @MTKATL but that man trades for more beer than most. Reveal: Cigar City (El Catador Club Beer) - Bone Valley - Sweet stout aged in Bourbon and Cognac barrels I'm shocked that this doesn't have coffee in it, as it warms it almost feels like a coffee liquor or syrup is partially entwined. I'm very much enjoying this beer and it almost makes me sad I wasn't a member for that round, but not sad because I'm drinking the beer now. Thanks Mike really am enjoying this slow sipper!
Day one from @Elkevjoe out of a weird twist-top Crowler that I’ve never seen before. Murky brownish yellow with lots of particulate. Lots of hops and fruit and sweet vanilla. I think this might be one of those Dragonsaddle infusions, maybe mango and vanilla. I was off on the fruit, and marshmallow instead of vanilla. Obviously had to switch to proper glassware when I revealed this. Thanks @Elkevjoe !
Day #1 from @Sturgeon83. I'm actually drinking day #2's beer because FedEx decided i couldn't handle 6 days of beer, so they smashed up my day #1 beer. BA stout that is ridiculously sweet. Just straight diabetes in a glass. It has an aftertaste that i just can't place that has a little bit of a licorice like flavor. Reveal: Mark it Zero from JWB and Main & Mill Brewing! I love the Big Lebowski. Am I the only one around here who gives a shit about the rules!? Thanks @Sturgeon83
Day 1 courtesy of @timmy2b Broke out the Jackie O’s glass based on bottle shape...dark, thick and roasty stout with great barrel notes plus some S’mores fudge from Tonawanda, NY The Alchemist Squidgy Black and some kids to help me polish off the fudge! Thanks Tim!
Day 1 from @dprice. The cap gave away Kane, and I knew right away chocolate was involved. I've had very few beers from them in the past so really didn't have a guess. Kane Mexican Dessert. Great way to start on day 1. Thanks DeShawn.
Light Roasted Coffee in the nose and taste. Could tell it was a porter, but no clue from where or what the aftertaste was. Turns out it was another wish list check from Hill Farmstead. Vanilla was there as it warmed up. Thanks @Dicers this was a very smooth coffee porter!
Day 2. Black wax on a bomber with Ghirardelli pairing. Thick pour, dark roast, oak, cinnamon bark? Molasses? Red wine? No idea what this is but it is good.
