@timmy2b was nice enough to let me choose my own adventure for some thicc smoothies, so I enjoyed a couple liquid lollipops on Sunday... ...and I saved one for today too! Family shot with a great candy pairing Apricot, mango, naranjilla Goldenberry, pomegranate, orange Banana, passionfruit, raspberry, black currant All delicious! ...but wait, there’s more!!! Just when I thought it was safe to hang out on my porch again, Tim hit me with another box of 8 Other Half cans and a cool sticker too! And there’s still 4 more days plus all the other extras he already sent...c’mon liver, you can do it! Thanks Tim and hope your Bills and Josh Allen set some Tuesday night football records tonight
day 1 from @winehead247 had a major Peach nose and taste. I felt like it was a stainless vessel sour with peaches for sure. boy was I wrong, no peaches! But it was very tasty, excellent for the style
Day 2 - Paired with Sugarfina Gimlet Gummies w/ Aviation Gin Nose first hit foam, took a deep smell and got a lot of funk. Clearly a saison, not picking up heavy booze notes or strong gin characteristics. First sip indicate no additional adjuncts and just a very solid saison, potentially foeder/oak aged? Doesn't have HF funk to me so I can eliminate them, and its not too acetic like a lot of dG. Narrowed it down to SP or SARA. Can't put my finger on it so I'll go with Saison Bernice from SARA. Reveal: Saison du Blé courtesy of Side Project. It has been quite a while since I've had this gem, but man is it really really good. What a pleasant Tuesday evening beer. I can't help but think the rest of the beers are going to whoop my ass. Thanks @MTKATL for another banger
Day 2 from @corm44.. right away smelled marshmallow, Reveal- Imperial Stout from Equilibrium. Marshmallow, coconut =yumm! I do love stouts! Thanks again!
Day 2 from @Elkevjoe is boozy rum on the nose. Taste is more complex, not getting any adjuncts, just some good barrel notes from the rum and maybe bourbon as well. I’ll guess double barrel Dark App. The chocolate pairing is really nice too. A blend of various rum and bourbon barrel-aged stouts. Very tasty, it’s been a minute since I’ve had a JO’s beer and forgot how excellent they are. Thanks @Elkevjoe!
After bit of a delivery delay scare, the box from @Joenap419 arrived right on time: The Trillium and Tree House extras tick off a whole bunch of my long term wants. Also included were three (3!) "Together we Hunt" shirts. Loving this box, thank you @Joenap419!
Day 1 from @Joenap419 is straight joose, I should have rolled on a longboard while guzzling it: 450 North Slushy, Kronic Peach Cobbler collab with CA's Kings Brewing. This was my first 450 slushy and it did not disappoint, thank you @Joenap419, excellent start to the round!
Day 2 from @Joenap419 is a nice coffee stout with a soft aftertaste, I'm guessing Tree House: Tree House Double Shot, a new tick for me, nicely paired with some Heath! Thanks @Joenap419, nice days 1-2 style switch-up!
Day 2(3) from @Sturgeon83. Lambic-like sour with some sort of fruit that I can't place. This is really delicious. Reveal: Fen Tao! Long time want. Thanks @Sturgeon83!
Day 2 from @winehead247 hit me like a galaxy hopped, mid-8% DIPA that was crushable off the start hit the style and ABV but no idea on the hop profile. Tasty stuff
Day 2 from @BartS paired with See’s Butterscotch pecan bar. pours thick and viscous with lacing light head. This is boozy and roasty. Taste is barrel, barrel, barrel with rich dark roasted malts. Like a RIS. Maybe a hint of coffee, but it’s subtle. No other adjuncts I can distinguish. Cellarmaker Bourbon Barrel Vastness of Space. Untappd reveals this year was Eagle Rare barrels! This was a fantastic boozy imperial stout. Very enjoyable day 2.
Day 1 from @jrc1093 brought a something on the lighter side of a bigger stout. Sweet chocolate, maple on the finish. Maybe a hint of cinnamon. It's been a while, but it reminded me of TH Moment of Clarity. Lots more maple and cinnamon the closer she got to room temp. Damn close, this is basically Moment of Clarity with cinnamon and vanilla. Starting off with a banger, thanks Jake
Day 2 from @jrc1093 was most definitely not beer, as this sucker smelled like a winey ass wine. Thicker than wine, and sweet, but still tastes like wine, so I'll say some sort of mead. No clue where from, even with the hieroglyphics on the cap. SpontaneMjød from OEC, a Braggot Collab with Dansk Mjod Mead in Denmark. Blend of spontaneously fermented sour ale matured in oak barrels and Nordic Mead. Most definitely wouldn't have gotten ginger out of that, but it does explain the little bite that I got. Very interesting, great sipper... thanks again Jake!
Day # 2 2-A bourbon barrel age imperial stout taste some thick peanut butter,Taste like something I’ve had before, reveal concluded I was wrong again Aslin South Pickett new tick for me delicious peanut butter flavors with lingering booze 2-B definitely not as boozy at 2-A mouth feel is lighter thinner milky, revel is melt by crooked run imperial milk stout thanks @beatjunkee
Let's get day 3 rolling. Another 500ml bottle with plain black cap, looks like day 1 bottle so I guess Transient. Thick stout paired with more Ghirardelli squares. Sweet maple and vanilla with some pepper spice at the end. Maybe rye barrel.
Day 2 Opened both of these last night from @dprice Blackberry Raspberry Marshmallow JREAM Stay Hydrate from Veil Really enjoyed both. Thanks DeShawn
Day 3 3-A hazy ipa very citrus forward maybe a double ipa Green Hops by short throw brewery new one for me both paired deliciously with sour patch kids 3-B pale ale with very little bitterness disk work by short throw brewery I like what these guys are putting down Thanks @beatjunkee
