Anyone have any idea what Oktoberfests they’ll have on for the Fall Fest?

So I just bought a growler of YEMS. $28 for sixty-four ounces of BBA imperial stout. It’s a ridiculously low price for a beer of this kind at that volume. Thankfully they counter-pressure fill their growlers. No idea when I plan to open it. Don’t want to put myself in a comma tonight. Also got a growler of their Grapefruit IPA—opened that right up. it’s absolutely delicious. Massive grapefruit, full-bodied and a nice sweetness to balance it out. Didn’t anticipate liking it this much. It’s more ABV than I usually drink for an IPA, but what the hell? Haven’t been to CBC in forever. Also picked up a couple bottles of Benevolence and a four pack of Flower Child. Nice little haul. Happy to support them. If I lived closer, I’d support them a heck of a lot more. Walking in there for the first time in many months was a great feeling.

Pretty hard to put myself in a “comma,” or any other punctuation mark for that matter. Meant to say coma. I’m not smart.

One time I put myself in a semicolon. Had a headache for days.

    I assume a semi-colon also causes constipation?

    Ah thanks!

    Nice list.

I’ve had the CBC Festbier on tap at Longcross already. Really dug this one, light amber and a ‘tweener not just in color, but in flavor profile between the pale and amber style. At least to my palate.

    Eyeing that Altbier or Schwarz.

Went to the fall fest tonight. I had For Those Who Hear the whisper which is made with sheep skulls. I was told the collagen adds to the mouthfeel, but it didn't do much different for me. Still a fun gimmick nonetheless. What shocked me was checking untappd ratings afterwards. The beers I had were well above the 3.6 averages they were getting.

CBC beers are criminally underrated. They don’t attract the haze bros who give 5s to any hyped beer. I’ve been to I think 7 of the past 9 CBC pumpkin fests and they are super fun. Can’t make it this weekend but maybe they will still have some stuff available in a few days.

The beers are so unique while being very balanced. The altbier with toasted marshmallow was surprisingly roasty and delicious?

CBC is inventive (sometimes downright adventurous), groundbreaking, diverse, low hype, fairly priced, available, unpretentious, high quality. So you know, not as good as the three-year-old brewery that puts out three "new" New England IPAs every week.

3 year old breweries are considered veterans these days. It’s all about the $22/4-pack from the first time brewer with cool can art.

I am heading to CBC this evening, first time at a fest there. I know it won’t be the same feel as others but excited to try some weird stuff and some classics. And some Buffalo tenders.

You will probably like this as much as any fest. I’ve been to every variety of festival they’ve ever had. To me, the anniversary parties are by far the best. They happen each year in early May. Low key, tons of variety, different pouring stations inside and out. If memory serves, there is a special anniversary beer brewed each year. (For the 25th, they took their standard amber, made it a double, and aged it in rum barrels.) They’ll have hops, stouts, (usually) a cask, wild and mixed fermentations, strong ales, Belgians. It’s a great time. No tickets needed, no reservations required.

Anyway, was thinking of going in today too, but it’s just not in the cards. Have a great time. Tenders are excellent, by the way.

Oh, I’m a CBC veteran. Just never been able to swing by for a fest. Looking forward to the altbier. I’m just going to pretend the marshmallows are a joke.

The anniversary parties are great but have been drawing more and more crowds (it's usually on a nice day). Even the sourfest draws a ton of people now. Who can blame them? CBC has by far the best sour program in the state. I've only been to the pumpkinfest once. I don't like pumpkin beers, but CBC always has a unique spin and I love that each of the brewers does their own beer. The smaller fests are awesome (e.g. barleywine fest).
