Not as good as lactose sours, it looks much cooler when it's thick and purple.

Ah, it's pretty easy to do. The extinguisher just sits there, getting dusty, under the wall-mounted cap lifter in the garage.

Who even thinks of it unless there's a fire? (Hopefully, one does remember it when there is a fire AND it's been recently check and filled).

Given that he had less than 3 gallons of beer I tend to believe this story is either fabricated or exaggerated. Maybe the fire was far enough away that he was just getting embers blowing in that he was putting out but that doesn't seem to be the story he's telling. I am betting he thought if he told the local reporter his story he'd at the least get his few moments of fame and if he was really lucky he probably hopes Bud might deliver him a truckload of beer

So do Mexicans. Watery beer at that, often low rated on BA.

Apologies for the late participation here, but wouldn't it be a hoot to put out multiple traps with a stout, a lager, and an IPA, etc and see which one attracts the most? Plus, you get to drink the leftovers

Huh this one seems straight forward. Depending on the person and the beer I can make just about anything happen. Including myself :flushed:

I suspect that you'd reject the cheap beer that I'll offer those slugs.

Agree. Probably cheap there too and ubiquitous. That said, I like a little Carta Blanca on occasion. Especially in the summer when it's hot.

Plus nothing chases Mezcal better than a Dos Equis or Carta Blanca, etc.

I remember my Mom pouring very cheap beer in empty cat food cans around her plants; this attracted the slugs that were eating on her plants. Each morning she would empty the can of slugs that we can only assume died happy at least. I remember Mom exhibiting a grimace as she opened the cans of this cheap swill of a beer. She would always say, "It smells like diarrhea." On another note, you can always cook with beer.

As long as it's fresh cheap beer. (See post #18.)

Carta Blanca is one of the best Mexican beers IMHO. Just a great overall lager as well.

I can’t get Carte Blanca here in 6 packs. All the Mexican Lagers the only thing I see are the huge bottles. But that’s my Mexican beer of choice, it’s crisp, clean, no off flavors,

Because water sanitation was non existent back then. At least the alcohol in the beer would kill off any germs. Smart folks, them colonists!

Wine, beer, spirits were the only liquids safe to drink without boiling it first. Have to say in these modern time the only person that I know who contracted dysentery is my brother, he’s had it twice. The second time coming back from Myrtle Beach, but even I’m leery of beach tap water, gastric distress is common for me too, whether it’s low water tables or how they treat the water. I use bottled water for everything, but you can still get sick wresting say a salad. You go to Mexico don’t eat the salad.
