Anything from left hand. Especially anything nitro as it tends to be more smooth and creamy cheers

all of my quick thoughts were mentioned already.
just got a 6er of narwhal from sierra nevada
    Brooklyn Black chocolate is amazing

Victory storm king could be good but is less easy to find sometimes

Bells expedition and kalamazoo are both solid

ill think on this more. There are some local CT breweries with 4 packs, but not readily available in stores, which I think is what you want.

Eugene porter by Revolution that's a good one I think 6.8 ABV

I know you said 7% or above, but given what you're looking for, I think you would very much enjoy a six pack of Founders Porter (6.5% abv). The quality of that beer, and the relative low price tag, make it hard to beat when it comes to stouts and porters.

Unfortunately Victory has decided to nix this beer.

    Cheers!

If you are near a brewery that participated in the Black Is Beautiful campaign, check out if that brewery packaged their version of the beer. (I'm guessing that most breweries did not package it.) The basic recipe produces a great stout, but breweries had the latitude to vary the recipe and many bumped up the abv or added flavorings. You might get lucky and find what you want. (I've seen it in bottles and cans, 4-packs and 6-packs, and 12 oz. as well as 16 oz.).

I agree with Narwhal & Expedition or Brooklyn's Black Chocolate if you're married to 6 packs.
Also second the suggestion of Black Butte, an excellent porter that can fill a stout craving.

Deschutes Obsidian Stout is my favorite sixer of any style just about. Its flavor is more intense than the abv let's on.

I'm inclined to champion this one too, it's bold simplicity suggests a higher ABV ...

I'm pretty sure that at one time Snake River distributed to New York so if they still do, seek out their Zonker Stout.

Deschutes Obsidian and North Coast Old Rasputin. Raspy is a 4 pack, but drink all 4 and you'll be happy.

I know you said no to BBA, but BA Ten Fidy stovepipes technically come in 6pk ring carriers. They’ll just run you about $70. I’ve seen stores selling em like that in the past.

I can second many of the beers suggested here and if we are throwing Porters into the mix also and you can get Yards beers George Washington's Tavern Porter, Yuengling Hershey's Chocolate Porter...

Southern Tier Warlock is in season now so give that a whirl.

Stouts/Porters are up there for me as far as favorite styles are concerned and I have had many and I can't think of one that I didn't enjoy.

Lots of good suggestions. I’d throw Sierra Nevada stout and porter in the mix as well, although they seem to be increasingly hard to find (and a little lighter in ABV than specified).
