Green Cheek released a brand new beer over the weekend called We Got The Weekend. They labeled it a hazy west coast ipa. Does that count? Idk. What do you think? I picked up a 4pk. Getting ready to open my first one.

This one sounded interesting so I made an order. Also grabbed some of that 100% Nelson DIPA (hazy, I know). To keep it on topic, I also ordered a 4 pack of Happily Deceased.

Holy shit. Picked up a 4 pack of this yesterday and it's fantastic. Definitely resembles the Alpine Nelson but packs a little more punch and has a long finish with some grapefruit.
Surprised my neighbor with one and he was blown away.
Went back today and picked up a 4 pack of their hazy.

Sipping a Karl Strauss/Societe Catch You On The Flip Side IPA and it’s a solid Westty. This one is Raul recommend.

Was blessed with my trip to Vegas last week. Beachwood is delivering regularly to Khoury's in Henderson, and while Amalgamtor was sold out, I had my first go at Melrose and it may be even better. Rated it higher numerically, but would like to try side by side.

Also in Vegas, Hop Nuts had two solid WCIPA, the first a Wet Hops offering they brew this time of year called Wetter the Better, one of my favorite beers of the trip and their Best Coast DIPA was very good. Rated Revision's IPA which is on point, and liked the Stone Enjoy By and Pizza Port Swami were good offerings. Excited about the Beachwood drop in Chicago this week, hope this becomes an annual event. With FOBAB cancelled, there were only a couple keg drops, really want to see Hops of Brixton in the future, either here or on a trip to Long Beach.

Hoping to hit LA this winter, want to hit Highland Park and Smog City for the first time, in addition to hitting my favorites.

Drake’s Foraging Raccoon is now in cans. Drank one the other night, fresh (canned early October), super classic west coast profile with a light malt base.

As a Beachwood homer who constantly sings the praises of their British and German style beers, I'm glad to see this. I feel that Hops of Brixton, Glenlongbeach, James and others go underappreciated

...back to our regularly scheduled west coast IPA program...

Saw El Segundo Seco IPA for the first time today at my local beer spot. Do Brute’s count as WC IPA’s? Either way, it was really good. Go Dodgers! World Series champions, baby!

North Park Brewing Company's Sorta Mostly Dead wins for me. Best WCIPA i've had in recent memory.

Between Sorta Mostly Dead, Strata Rocket and Suddenly Simcoe, NP has risen to kings of WCIPA in SD (along with pizzaport).

Yep. NP and Green Cheek are best WCIPA in SoCal. El Segundo and Beachwood coming in second. Can't comment on HPB since I've never had their WCIPA but I suspect they are in the discussion.

Figured I would mentioned Anchor Brewings Fog Breaker IPA. Not because it’s epic but because it’s....
    1) all west coast, clear bitter citrus pine and
    2) Anchor’s like 100+ yrs older than most of the other Cali breweries mentioned.
I gave it a 3.75, but it’s classic west coast.

I’m not sure on the price. I’ll be completely honest. My wife picked it up at Costco as a 24 variety pack. (Along with steam beer, California lager, and galaxy pale ale). I’m sure it was a reasonable price though.
California lager was not very good but everything else was pretty good.

Is the galaxy pale from the brewers choice, or whatever they call it, with the guy stirring a mash tun and a bluish label?

    yes, looks like it.
I’m not an expert on Galaxy but there was a lot of a pine and woody almost spruce taste to it.

That series had a couple I really liked at first and some.duds and then disappeared from local shelves. That doesn't really sound like a galaxy forward beer though
