    Gravity Void on sale tonight.

Gravity Void, our 13% imperial stout with hazelnut, cocoa nibs, and cinnamon, returns, and this time we somehow captured it in bottle form.

I tried a Coffee Shaky Shaky tonight. The idea of a coffee milkshake IPA was intriguing; I figured it would either be amazing or truly awful.

Turns out it's neither, but it was definitely enjoyable. It kind of had a chocolate milk vibe, with some orange citrus accents. If that sounds odd, it was, but it was pleasant at the same time.

I was pleasantly surprised by this one.

was talking to JT (the bartender) about this today. He said upon revisit the coffee had the background. I had it fresh and it was certainly coffee forward and hoppy. So it may be when you had this one

Loved the sun bubble idea until I saw you need to reserve them for $15 a pop. Reservations are required, no walk-ups.

This is a state ordinance so Riverlands hands are tied. No ill-will there but $15 is pretty steep.

It’s only $15 deposit, applied to your bill total. Very reasonable for them to hold it open and protect from flaky no-shows with such a limited number of bubbles.

Great news. I read their statement entirely wrong. "which will be applied to your bill when your reservation concludes".

Very clear now you get the credit back. Appreciate you pointing that out. Will definitely be frequenting their establishment as long as they can continue to serve outdoors.

If it wasn’t applied to your bill you wouldn’t frequent an establishment any longer?

If an extra $15 is that big of a deal, then you prob shouldn’t be going out. They are absorbing extra costs as they clearly had to purchase or rent the bubbles. If indeed your a fan of the brewery and a frequent customer then you shouldn’t at all mind doing a little extra to help them stay afloat during these challenging times.

i go to riverlands quite a bit, im right down the street in geneva. i was there 3 times last week, have bought more beer from them if anything since this pandemic started. specifically to help them. i have bought more beer period, since this pandemic started than i did prior. its a problem. very aware of the state these businesses are in.

you are right, $15 isnt that big of a deal. but if they were charging $15 to reserve a spot everytime you went with no walk-ups, yeah, i would have been a bit upset. would add up really quickly.

regardless, i already admitted i misunderstood their original post and am thrilled its just to hold a spot. as long as the weather is decent ill keep going, the bubbles are a damn good idea.

What if he is going out 20 days a month? If everyone is tacking on something like that would you really expect him to cough up an extra $300 a month in business welfare? That seems a bit unreasonable. I wouldn't pay $15 for a table unless I had a large group going which is counterproductive in the Covid era. The more people get charged in incidental fees the less generous they are going to be with the tip. If they were tacking on $15 in incidental fees, odds are the server isn't getting an added bonus in the sympathy "sorry for Covid" tip that many people are leaving.

I would just like to say that Dean Street is a really good IPA. It's the right kind of hazy IPA: fruity and soft bodied, without being too sweet, and with a pretty good bitter kick. First IPA I've tried from Riverlands, and they did a good job with it.

The three new beers that came out today all sound great. Anybody from the Naperville area heading out there this weekend?? Lol

We had planned to, but had a label delay. Never fear though, it's only pushed back a week or so to early December. I won't give away what beer yet, but we're getting excited for it.

I'm very torn on this one. I love riverlands stouts but I really don't know if I want Mexican hot chocolate stout

So Secret Burrito non-BA is a little too spicy for me. I’m placing a bet that the barrel balances that out for me. We’ll see but I think their BA program has been on a nice run after Kamoho. Now, we need to talk about getting Campfire Tales in barrels....

    You may have convinced me...

Man, I'm still mad I missed ba kamoho. I need to go trade my soul for one of those.
