Has anyone seen normal Narwhal in south OC? I keep seeing people post it in WBAYDN on the east coast and lots of other places but not here.

I saw it randomly at one store here when I wasn't beer shopping. Haven't seen it since, kinda weird

I've been ordering this shit, BA and normal, for weeks for the store and nothing. I'm so miffed.

A lot of good stouts mentioned previously but I'm gonna go against the grain and say Fifty Fifty Eclipse Elijah Craig is one of my favorite Imperial Stouts period. Barrel aged, nice barrel flavors, still has a nice roasty bite to it and has no adjuncts added. Just a well done no bulls*&^ stout (IMO).

I'll concur, definitely tasty for my palate and preferences. Was my choice for the only beer I drank in my 40th Birthday.

Damn, that's weird. Really hope we see an actual release. I feel like its usually a late august first bottling. It is definitely late now

Do the eclipse releases see a lot of distro? I thought they were mostly sold online from the brewery

They do see limited distro. I live in So Cal and I've seen them in Total Wines and Bevmos down here and I've also seen them in a Total Wine in Sacramento. The Elijah Craig variant was MIA for a couple of years until recently.

I can't speak to breadth of distro. I've grabbed all mine at Davis Beer Shoppe or the 5050 spot in Truckee.

Stouts would be my 2nd favorite style beers after ipa’s. When I do open a stout it usually is a oatmeal or milk stout. So when I heard Class V was being released in cans I was excited. I haven’t had CV in years. They stopped making it around 2016. Thank you @KRBCEric for bringing this favorite stout back. I hope it stays in as the original 4. Or at least seasonal along with Citra release. Package arrive right on schedule on Wednesday. Will open first can this weekend which starts today. Last time I remembered this as a very smooth and easy drinking 8% stout. I see some local places are just now getting this in. If you haven’t tried this one this is a good chance to try it. It’s not a special barrel aged that cost $25+ for a bottle. Just a really good stout in 16oz cans for around $15 for a 4pk.

This might be only NorCal due to closer proximity to Chico, but in San Francisco, I saw Narwhal at my local Safeway (Vons) this past weekend when I went grocery shopping.

Can't you use their beer locator though? - https://sierranevada.com/beer-locator/

We have some in buffalo trace barrels right now pretty much ready to go. Looking for a good time to pull it out.

    Hope you enjoy it!

    Cheers,

No time like the present!

Would any of it be packaged? If so, what format(s)?

I was more making a comment as to why it's basically nowhere else in the southern half of the state, but it can be found in the Midwest and east coast.

My first thought not seeing it down here was because they, like many others have done with seasonals, scaled back production of Narwhal and only made it available to surrounding areas. But then I see it popping up in several other states. So that's clearly not it. Is there really so little demand for it down here and decided not to ship it down or (probably the more likely scenario) their distributors down here don't want to carry it?
