Drink it without putting it in the fridge! That’s the way to go with maple Deth.

Totally agree. Not a love or hate. More like love vs disappointed.

On first sniff, I didn't smell any maple and wasn't expecting much. It tasted great with hint of sweetness and different mouth feel than I've had with other deths. As it warmed up, I noticed more of the maple and how it complimented deth vs being the main player. As others have said, this is an amazingly balanced beer. It's still a BA stout that I can appreciate the barrel and base stout. Maple and the maple barrels are more of a supporting cast ala CBS, but better as someone else said. It's not in the forefront/dominant flavor like mornin' delight (yes, i know it's not BA but i've never KBBS). I did have a kittywampus brunch a few days later and it's a totally different beer. brunch was good like a decadent dessert, but it made me appreciate the nuances of deth maple.

You could Cuvee them in the meantime.

Had my second can of Maple last night. I really dig catching all the nuances of maple and oak barrel out of this Maple Deth. Rather than just dump a helluva lot of maple syrup in the recipe like so many others, Rev actually tried to create something balanced. Kudos to them. Dig the release.

Cafe Deth is also quite good this year, but after Supermassive it's a tough act to follow.

Brewpub closed for the winter. Sad but understandable.

So many places are going to end up having to do this. (breweries or not). We're just going to need to support them in whatever ways we can while they're closed.

Speaking of supporting Rev, WCIPA fans take note. Really looking forward to trying this one.

One way I would assume you can help is to TIP through their website when you pickup your beer. If you forget, do it after.

I didn't realize until this last time I picked up there that you had the add the tip as a separate item in your cart. I'm so used to other places where its just an option at checkout (such as Dovetail or Half Acre).

I think your best bet is to use their beer finder. It seems to be fairly accurate in my experience.

Same, I'm so frantic checking out I often forget. The good thing is that you can go back at any time and "buy" a tip. I gave $20 this time because I'm a scumbag and forgot for Thundertaker.

Sad. I'm curious as to how many establishments have made contigency plans for the 2nd covid surge. I'm guessing a lot didn't and those are the places that won't be around come March. It was fairly obvious this was going to happen come winter.

Alot of them are taking legal action...when your business and money for your family is on the line, drastic measures get taken. I was at a bar yesterday and they just hired an attorney. I am gutted for these places, I am a small business owner and I have been affected by government decisions in the past, but never shut down. I just can't imagine how I would handle this...

There's actually a list of all the Chicagoland and Metro area restaurants/bars/breweries that are defying the shutdown orders, and many more not on the list that are, but don't want to be included on a list. I don't blame them. The government can't sit down and agree on terms to help these people because they're too fucking partisan on both sides. These places have to have money coming in, or lose everything they've ever worked for...

Lots of truth in this article.

I'm all for taking covid seriously(because it needs to be), and I have for months, but you really can't shut down these businesses again, or they're never coming back from it.
