Genuinely surprised the Boogaloos haven't photoshopped one of these with Jack wearing a Hawaiian shirt yet.

Well it was a nice discussion about inclusion in the craft beer community...until now.

I live in Lake Zurich as well I would not be surprised if someone said Lake Zurich was 85% White or +90% White/Asian. The median income is also inline with my thoughts but then again I am white and over that median. Phase Three is targeting areas with high levels of disposable income and that's exactly what a craft business should be doing.

The discussion was a legitimate discussion, on topic for this thread, and everyone was handling it respectfully. If it gets out of hand, or people cross lines, I can clean it up, but I've seen nothing that is an issue to this point.

If anyone has a specific issue, feel free to report it or contact me directly.

I did not expect this conversation but I’m happy it is happening. Snark and all! There is even logic AND data checks occurring. Congratulations, we are model internet denizens!

I’m excited for my boo van and I hope they dress up like something scary / More employees.

Awesome to see this discussion and, especially, this level of civility. At its heart, this reflects the need to have diverse perspectives and experiences within a brewery's staff. If nothing else, to ask "could we branch out to a couple more places?" Most of the anti-inclusive actions I've seen are due to inattention and lack of perspective, rather than prejudice.

On the list of things to get upset about, this ranks pretty low. Could they have branched out a bit? Eh, maybe. It'd be nice to see Humboldt Park on there, but it's mostly 60651, which stretches to the western border of the city (Austin Ave). Being a small operation, I can understand the need to keep the logistics as simple as possible (2 vans and 2 hrs per zip). More zip codes means either more vans/drivers, more delivery days, or shorter delivery windows.

60618 and 60647 both have a Latinx plurality, so the assertion below is just factually incorrect. Whether it's due to laziness or preconceptions or a desire to stir the pot, I don't know.
It's actually 2 of 10 zip codes that are predominantly Latinx. Across all 10 zip codes, here's the racial breakdown (the tiny slivers are American Indian and Some Other Race):

Yes, it's majority White, but I don't see a need to get bent out of shape over this (and believe me, I can get bent out of shape pretty easily).

Wait, you’re a Moderator now?! You’re officially “the man” now. On a serious note, nice to see a Moderator that is actually part of our community.

And I agree that it’s actually been well handled here and to those that think it shouldn’t even be discussed here, I think that aspect is an antiquated way of thinking. We should all be willing to look at things like this and discuss them. I think most would agree no clear ill intent by P3, but it may be a byproduct of some systemic issues that exist.

60647 appeared to be one that sold out quickly, although I'm blaming Bucktown

hahaha, yes ... I'm "the man". I try to keep a low mod profile though ... whats it they say about referees? If you know who they are, they aren't doing a good job?

Blacks make up 30% of Chicago and 6.5% of the neighborhoods delivered to. I'm just offering a frame of reference. I don't think P3 is racist, we'll chalk it up to the unconscious bias which is the hot buzzword, but I do think breweries need to practice what they preach. If you are going to brew a Black is Beautiful beer are you doing it to be hip and cool because everyone else is doing it or are you going to get behind the message and actively seek that change and be the inclusive place in the brewing industry to people of color: https://blackisbeautiful.beer/

I was thinking of Teddy V, but wasn’t sure if many others would get it if I mentioned it. @SudsSavant wins BA for the day, and maybe longer.
