unconscious bias? as mentioned, they are simply maximizing their return on investment/effort for a small staff that will be driving around all day for a one-off event.

regarding BiB, do you have it on some authority that P3 is not abiding by the principles behind the campaign?
    • Donate 100% of the beer's proceeds to local foundations that support police brutality reform and legal defenses for those who have been wronged
    • Choose their own entity to donate to local organizations that support equality and inclusion
    • Commit to the long-term work of equality
If you're not able to provide detail on how they are failing to adhere to the spirit of the campaign or not "practicing what they preach", then you are simply imposing a personal standard over what these breweries should be doing to be able to brew this beer.

and no, choosing to deliver to neighborhoods that have a higher likelihood of partaking in this event, given the limited window of working hours, is not a valid example.

God bless your heart. I let my previous post stand on its own as I think it more than enough backs up my thoughts.

Essentially, what you are saying is "I don't discrminate, so why is this my problem?" If you aren't part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

I am not disagreeing with any of your points. I just want to point out that Dovetail is equally as small of a business as P3 (if not smaller) and they do a great job of spreading out their delivery patterns. Now they have done this a few months longer, and I have no doubt P3 will improve their process if they continue these. And again, I am not personally attacking P3 for any of this (I stick up for them and support regularly these days), just giving feedback on how they can improve it if they do. For all we know, they will hit all of the in-between neighborhoods on the next drop.

But, if you are saying they having nothing to learn from or improve on this first venture, I will vehemently disagree with you based on simple business principals. Everything is a learning experience.

I absolutely love people who like to dictate when and where a topic of conversation is allowed to happen. BTW it’s Opposite Day today.

The online store doesn't say who they're donating to, but it's in their Instagram post:

Devious Methods just might be my favorite P3 IPA yet. Wish I could have gotten more than one pack.

Gotta say I am kind of stunned that a Shaun vanilla chocolate stout doesn’t sell out instantly and is still out there 5 hours later at a reasonable retail price, while the mediocre caramel apple beer sells out instantly twice. Not complaining, but puzzled.

Theories? Stout season fatigue? Is it that this particular beer is a branded cause to donate to by buying the beer and is therefore keeping some people from buying?

Well, for me, as a LZ out of towner, it’s a matter of limited options in their store. I can get the other beers at my Binny’s, so not worth making the trip for 2 cans.

I think the Affy Tapple beer was coveted by people who don't give a shit about "craft beer" otherwise. Plus there was news stories about it.

Source: my Mom, who asked me to get her beer for the first time ever.

I believe a decent percentage of it is the reason you’re hinting at. One of the guys I regularly split weekly 4-packs with wanted no part of this beer for political reasons. I was like fine, more for me then.

If it was Shaun's stout recipe I would make the drive, but don't think it is.

I think nostalgia/tie-ins draw in people who otherwise may not be purchasing beers from a particular brewery (or beers at all!). I got suckered in to that Mr Peanut beer and still regret it to this day.

It's a collaboration between Weathered Souls and whatever brewery wants to do it. From the website:

For the beer we thought it be appropriate to brew a stout, as it is in the name of the initiative, Black is Beautiful. Weathered Souls will provide the recipe for the stout base, please place your own spin and love into this. The sky is the limit as far as creativity. KD Designs has done an excellent job of creating a label that we feel places the correct symbolism to the project. We ask that everyone use the label that has been provided. We will leave a space open on the label for everyone’s own logos and ideas.

Shaun’s version is an Imp Stout with Vanilla. They also put some into casks for aging, according to this Instagram post.

Was in the same boat as you until I tricked him and mentioned this is the only stout outside of Curvatures and Eunoia he’s made at P3. Dumbass

Also it’s the brewer, not the recipe that makes the stout what it is. Pretty sure they don’t need follow their recipe.
