Friday night, drinking and ignoring my problems

 

Honestly such a terrible label job - I mean, what's the name of the beer? Merry Christmas Happy New Year? No. "2020"? No. In tiny circling print - upside-down no less - below the word, "Christmas," it reads, "Our Special Ale" - and that's the name of the beer... lol

You know I love this beer - I hardly ever buy two sixers of the same beer in the same week...

Very nice - smooth and creamy with a sweet hint of citrus pith, a touch of anise, and a little pillowy vanilla marshmallow... Light heat lingers on the finish...

Currently, sipping a shot's-worth of Chopin alongside another Our Special Ale...

Surprisingly (?) complimentary - the beer is great following the vodka - comes off really deeply chocolaty with highlights of anise... The vodka has a syrupy sweet licorice marshmallow character as it follows the beer... Really good beer, really good vodka...

I mean, what're ya gonna do?

Halloween pending - Samhain for you observers - and for some reason I'm off this year on Election Day (I'll take it!) so, almost a 4-day holiday weekend, right? I'm sure I can survive it...

In other news, beware of the thinning of the veils between this world and the next this weekend - more to follow on News 12 Eleven....

Evenin' all .
Had the day off in anticipation of crap weather, & the wheels being parked. Well...
the repairs/inspection went better, faster, & less expensive than anticipated, the crap happened late yesterday/last night, with a 1/2 hr break just in time for my walk home from [XXX] Automotive, & most of the day was dry, if a little raw, allowing me to get ready for the big freeze, with no misery.( Instead of starting now, and getting soaked, as usually happens). First time with that shop , & given the blind date/arranged marriage aspect of that, I'm more than a little pleased.

~1/3 of this is my neighbor/sister-in-law's (she works late Thurs & Fri, so I saved it for her) , but yeah, it's still a lot.

 

Laid back...with my mind on my money, and the $68.17 in my checking account until Wednesday on my mind!

My first one of the season. Danky, weedy, and a little creamy. Not to be a snob, but these are already more than 3 weeks old, it would have been nice to get the regular distro because we usually have it a lot sooner.

Better as it warms. The smell has even become more appealing. Indeed taking on characteristics of a guava milkshake as intended.

 

Just finished this one. Debating whether to have another beer or some wine or bourbon.
