Jester King has cool art, but I’m not a huge fan of their beer.

Any brewery that makes the brewery name, beer name, and beer style easily visible and readable even if it compromises their resident label artiste's masterpiece.

While the beer names are of questionable political correctness, I gotta say Flying Dog.

Barrier Brewing in Oceanside Long Island and Pipeworks Brewing in Chicago have great labels. They should be added to the list for consideration.

My feelings have changed significantly on can/bottle art. I used to be drawn to busier, more garish work but recently lean towards work that is tasteful and understated. Small Pony Barrel Works in Ontario has some tremendous artwork, particularly the black and white stuff. Check it out if your wish.

I can take or leave can art, I’m an old fart. Imo the best label in beerdom is Pliny. You can see that from 30 yards away and know what beer it is, simplicity at its finest. I’ve never ever held a bottle of Pliny in my hand and not smiled as I poured my beer. The same goes for Heady, those silver cans with the crazy guy on the can slurping beer is perfection, you can also see that can from 30 yards away as well and know what beer it is.

I'm partial to artistic, understated labels that still have useful information (name, beer style, specific hops if appropriate). A good example is Alefarm in Denmark. I especially liked their River Kings DIPA:
