Putting the Beer back in Beer Talk.

It's November 6th, I'm in shorts in Chicago, will take a long walk this afternoon where temperatures should reach 70 F.

Starting the day by working through the remains of my Summer Beer, and plotting good NBW/NBS beers for the weekend. Bell's Mango Oberon is my first beer today, straight from the bottle. Still going strong exactly four months out, refrigeration works wonders for beer.

The Sun on my bottle looks great, the Sun to the South of my porch is concerning to say the least. Will be a long wait to rectify this situation.

Good day BAs! Off to another sunny but cool start - may try to break the leaves off the ground and build an extremely smoky fire today. New Breakfast Beer, still working on the box from ultra-generous @nc41 and BIF12:

 

I was lucky enough to score a case of 500mL cans of Hobgoblin a couple of weeks ago - drinking no more than one a day so I can prolong the pleasure!

 

Poured into a 16 oz tulip type glass canned in late October. Pours a hazy yellow with a 2 finger sticky white head that leaves sporadic streaks of lace, with nice retention. 4

Smell is peach, melon, papaya, tangerine, and apricot. 4.25

Taste follows peach, cantaloupe, tangerine, papaya, and apricot really nice. 4.25

Mouthfeel is above average, a tad sticky not dry, soft gentle creamy carbonation, and at 6.6% ABV it goes down very easy, but bigger on flavor and feel. 4.25

Overall another excellent NEIPA from this brewery. I love what Marsh Island does. 4.25 Cheers all.

Worked three of my four days off and start nightshifts tonight. Drinking another winner from @basaywhat

If you're going to put cherries in a BBA stout, this is the way to do it. Very nice balance between tart cherry and oaky stout. Cheers all!

 

Have a good Friday. I was exhausted last night, it was the best night of my life for both of us. I am certainly a natural lover, according to her. All I heard at the end of the night "You were right that tonight would be amazing". I never thought I could be overly satisfied, but it happened. We are going out for Italian tomorrow night and watching some cartoons/comedy is the plan right now. She actually woke up late this morning, but made it to her laptop for work on time, which was good. We wore each other out.

I poured a tiny bit of a sweeter bourbon to finish the tart & oaky stout...

Then had soft tacos for lunch which made me think this was a good idea...

This Mexican Chocolate Stout from Schlafly is maybe the best beer they make. Like a 6% Xocoveza. The spicy higher rye New Riff is a perfect compliment. Going to get a nap soon...
