Bittersweet day today, likely the last time I'll get to hit breweries or bars this year, as temperatures will resume their norm sometime tomorrow, and I don't see anything reopening indoors until sometime next year.

Speaking of bittersweet, I am not a fan of this beer, a rare miss by Founders and one of the few times I can recall I am grateful it came in a four pack vs. six plus. It tastes what I would imagine a Frappuccino tastes like, far too sweet, whereas I like my coffee black and bitter. I also like my beer to taste like, or at least bare passing resemblance to, well beer. Yeah, get off of my leaf covered lawn.

Just got home from work and not messing around...

Schlafly Export Stout and a small pour of Old Tub by Jim Beam. The beer is nice as an amped up Irish dry style at 6% ABV and pairs well with a sweeter bourbon.

Sounds like a great reason to make a FL vacation trip this winter! All our bars/breweries (in Ocala/Daytona anyway) are open inside and out.

Our parents and grandparents took us to the Lido Beach in Sarasota a few times in late Winter, among the few out of state trips as a child. It sure is a lot more developed in terms of population and large high rises today.

Our trips were in the late 70s and early 80s. I believe Eastern Airlines from O’Hare were the only flights back then, no Sarasota or I don’t believe even Tampa Airport flights were available. These were my only flights until I was an adult.

We went to Disney / Sea World twice, after which we (me and bothers) were able to convince the adults to just stay at the beach and we did. Ringling Brothers had their winter camp and museum there, and I recall an auto museum as well.

I believe we stayed at the Gulf Beach Resort Motel, a basic room with a kitchenette. Typically think of going west for vacation of late, maybe need to consider Florida instead this winter.

Good Monday, everyone. The weather in NH has been spectacular this weekend and looks to continue for at least the next couple days. Not looking forward to what 2020 considers as "winter".

Finally picked up some KBS variants. Starting my day with a little Espresso. Wow it's like the first time I had FBS all over again, only with the KBS added bourbon barrel notes. A real tasty chocolatey dark coffee beverage. Cheers all!

 

Can you get to Forbidden Root? Depends on how hard core you are about your "breakfast" desires, plenty of other choices of course.. but FR is pretty damn awesome food and beer early in the day. (Says the Coloradan). Cheers!
