Alien Food~~Peanut Butter Cup Stout. I smell a hint of peanut butter but tastes like a molasses liqeuer. Triple-throw-down stout. 12.8% ABV.

 

Howdy BAs on Veterans Day.. this Singlecut's for my grandfathers, my American one who flew as a medic, was shot down (and survived) in Germany, for the Air Force. And for my French Grandfather who fought the ****s before joining the resistance after the collapse of the French Army in 1940. In their memory... Cheers to them, and to yours who served.

 

Raising one to my dad, a 36 year Army veteran, who served in WWII (2 purple hearts), Korea, and Viet Nam. He used to say, "I was just born at the wrong time".
He would have been 99 next week.

The second band of Hurricane ETA is starting to hit...my office ceiling has sprung two leaks, which I’m closely monitoring...with a beer of course - Sweets - Cherry Chocolate, a fruited sour by Mountains Walking Brewery, Bozeman, MT:





Very enjoyable! Strong chocolate nose with a whiff of cherry. Taste is chocolate, sour cherry with some vanilla on the backend. Not particularly sweet, but enough to balance the sour fruit. I like cherries and chocolate and this beer delivers both...Thanks to @JayWhitson for another treat out of Montana - Cheers!

A toast to my Grandfather (WW2 B17 pilot who flew countless missions during his two years in theater), and my Father a 20 year Korea, Cold War, and Vietnam vet in the Air Force. Despite his combat time, he says his most high-anxiety days were spent during the Cuban Missile Crisis on a Minuteman ICBM missile support crew. My father still holds it against me for becoming an Army officer instead of Air Force. Cheers!

Did my daily search and discovered that my local LCBO has just received the anticipated Samuel Smith’s Taddy Porter and Ola Dubh Special Reserve 12, so I know where I’m headed first thing tomorrow morning. Most stuff seems to be way behind the normal LCBO seasonal release schedule. At this rate the winter release, which is skewed toward heavier styles, won’t arrive until the end of winter. In fact, the winter release hasn’t even been announced yet.

Moving on to the second beer of the day, which is Collective Arts IPA No. 15. As I mentioned previously, this is a re-brew of #5, which I consider the best in the series. It’s an 8.2% DIPA with Citra and Simcoe hops. Wonderful beer. Cheers.
