Rainy and rather cold at the moment. Time for a good stout. Mixcoatl. An imperial stout brewed by Cigar City. Courtesy of my good friend @DoctorZombies . Thanks dude.

Chocolate Rain DOES contain alcohol. And it's delicious.

Earth Eagle Brewings Puca, a curry pumpkin porter... fun stuff, and pretty enjoyable. Some technical faults, in my opinion (mostly body/feel related), but I'm impressed by the flavors they got to work together.

Why, yes it does, and is. My rating is below the norm. I wonder if I'd like it even more fresh, but, even with 4 years it's a bit "hot". I just don't know. I'm so grateful that @Orca_Whale hit me with this beer.

Soft and pale lemony yellow body; opaque; decent head, fairly thick and sudsy. Lemon and grapefruit aroma; mild pineapple. Mild fruity flavors with a touch of citrus tang and light bitterness; oats; bread crust. Heavy body, soft and mellow on the palate; moderate dry and acidic presence on the palate; some citrus bite; semi-dry.

Another classy take on NEIPAs from the 49th state.

    Tonight's Beer Tasting Lineup:

    1) Dorothy's New World Lager from Toppling Goliath Brewery in Iowa, a mild and crisp clean drinking lager
    2) Schell's Cream Ale, a delicious pale and bready cream ale with smooth, but light malt flavors.
    3) Sam Adams Boston Lager, a classic lager and one of the best. Fantastic toasted bread, caramel, whipped cream, pie crust, brown sugar, grass, and pine flavors that remind you of a cold winter night.
    4) Sam Adams Oktoberfest, actually very similar to the Boston lager and hard to tell apart. This one pours a redder color and has just a touch more of red citrus. Otherwise nearly identical.
    5) Summit Extra Pale Ale, a delicious English Pale Ale from Minnesota with fantastic smooth malt and orange citrus flavors. Balanced and drinkable
    6) Fulton's Sweet Child of Vine, an English IPA with strong burnt bread, red citrus, herbal/pine flavors.

Winners: Sam Adams were two of the best. Surprised their Oktoberfest was so similar to their Boston Lager side-by-side. Both were excellent though. Summit EPA is another good English Pale Ale as @MNAle has mentioned in other threads.

It seems to me Sam Adams is standing the test of time with excellent beer. Have you had any of the above beers and what did you think?

The nice liquor store near me is trying to push these guys as the next Tree House, and while the couple of beers I've had are really good, I don't think they're quite touching that territory just yet.

This is a NEIPA with citra and galaxy. I feel like this beer has a lot more on the nose than it does tasting it. Although, it actually has some bitterness on the end, which is always welcome. Mouthfeel is a little chalky, which I don't mind.
